Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 1163

Jennifer looked at Leon again, every word coming out with absolute certainty.

Why didn’t she want to be with him?

Because the Redson family’s attitude toward her was even more frightening than the way the Wright family had once treated Stella.

Stella had finally escaped by faking her own death.

Jennifer didn’t want things to ever reach that point.

She just wanted to end things with Leon cleanly while she still could.

Leon’s chest had already felt unbearably heavy.

Hearing Jennifer say that made it even harder to breathe.

“Stop.”

His voice came out low and strained.

These past few days, the deaths of Felix and Stella had weighed on Leon too.

But he had been so focused on finding Jennifer that he had pushed most of that grief aside.

Now Jennifer was dragging their deaths back into the open, raw and impossible to ignore.

The pressure in his chest only grew worse.

Jennifer looked at him.

“Let’s not end up like that.”

“We won’t. Trust me. We won’t.”

“Monique and your mother have both already come after me. What makes you think worse things can’t happen?”

Leon fell silent.

Jennifer knew about the things Monique and Vivian had done behind his back.

And because the Redson family was terrified of ending up with another Stella, they would do whatever it took to keep Jennifer away from Leon.

As long as Leon refused to let her go, he was putting her life at risk.

“I’m begging you,” Jennifer said quietly. “Just let me go, okay?”

Leon’s chest tightened.

Let her go.

So breaking up with her now was what she considered mercy?

He met Jennifer’s eyes and felt as though he couldn’t breathe.

He took several deep breaths, but none of them eased the crushing weight in his chest.

“I’ll protect you.”

No matter what Jennifer said, Leon still had no intention of letting her go.

He didn’t want to release her hand.

He didn’t want to lose her.
