Although the Redson family tried to keep Leon and Jennifer’s disappearance under wraps, secrets like this never stayed buried for long.
And now the Redsons were searching for Leon everywhere.
No matter how discreetly they tried to do it, an operation that large was bound to attract attention.
Eventually, the news reached Stella and Felix too.
A faint smile tugged at Stella’s lips.
“We were wrong about him before. We never should’ve compared him to you or Evan.”
Felix paused.
Evan was one thing.
But now Stella was lumping him in with Evan and comparing both of them to Leon?
That kid...
Stella continued, “Sure, running away is a little reckless. But at least he found a way out when there really wasn’t another one.”
The situation with the Redson family had been a dead end from the start.
Why had Stella kept telling Jennifer to leave?
Because there had been no way to solve it.
Back then, the only options any of them could think of were for Jennifer to leave on her own...
Or for Leon to leave with her.
But no one had actually believed Leon would do that.
Redson Corporation was already in his hands.
If he walked away with Jennifer, he would essentially be giving up everything.
As the man running the Redson family business, no one thought he would ever abandon all of it.
And yet this time...
Everyone had been wrong.
Leon really had taken Jennifer and left.
He had walked away from everything tied to the Redson family.
He hadn’t even cared that his wedding to Monique had already been announced so publicly, or how badly the Redsons would be humiliated if it fell apart.
Everyone had said Leon’s sense of responsibility toward his family would keep him from doing anything reckless.
And yet he had gone ahead and done exactly that.
Felix frowned.
“That’s not being decisive. That’s being irresponsible.”
He clearly didn’t approve of what Leon had done.
“And now the Redson family is only going to hate Jennifer even more.”
“They already hated her,” Stella shot back. “What difference does a little more hate make?”
If there had been any way to fix the Redson family’s hostility toward Jennifer, Leon wouldn’t have needed to take her and run in the first place.
The whole point was that there was no solution.
