Everyone was gone now.
All of them.
Even Stella.
And only now had they finally uncovered the truth.
“Take care of yourself,” Evan said.
He was about to hang up.
“Evan!”
Yara stopped him again.
He frowned.
“What now?”
“Aaron Hogarth is completely heartless. He doesn’t even understand what it means to be wrong, and he’ll never feel guilty for any of it.”
Her voice trembled.
“Don’t go after him. I’m begging you.”
Evan was one of the very few Wrights she had left.
Yara was terrified that if Aaron lost control, he would kill Evan too.
After spending all this time around Aaron, she finally understood exactly what kind of man he was.
And right now, this was the last bit of reason she had left.
She couldn’t let Evan put himself in danger.
So what if Aaron and Stella had been wrong?
Stella was already dead.
And Aaron would never admit to Evan that he had made some so-called mistake.
“You don’t need to worry about any of that,” Evan said.
“Evan!”
The line went dead.
Yara’s heart lurched.
She still had more to say, but Evan had already hung up.
Things had gone too far now.
He and Aaron had become mortal enemies.
And it wasn’t only because of the Wright family.
There was Stella too.
Evan believed Aaron’s relentless pressure had driven Stella to her death.
By now, Evan had completely lost control.
He blamed everything on Aaron.
Yara stared at the disconnected call, nearly frantic.
She immediately headed for the door, determined to find Aaron.
But the moment she opened it, she found the guards stationed outside.
They had been there since the first day Aaron confined her here.
“Let me out!”
The guards immediately blocked the doorway.
