Chapter 1269
Hearing that, Stella nodded obediently.
“I understand, Dad.”
Michael gave a satisfied nod.
Good.
She was willing to listen.
Michael went to the lounge outside the hospital room with David to deal with some cabinet matters.
Michael had been in poor shape for some time because of everything involving Stella, and quite a lot of work had piled up.
Now that his precious daughter was alive and back by his side, his mood had improved considerably.
He finally began catching up on everything he had neglected.
Stella, meanwhile, sprawled lazily across the couch after breakfast.
Her phone was no longer on Do Not Disturb during the day.
It suddenly buzzed.
Felix.
Stella answered.
“Hello?”
“I’m in Eirden.”
Felix got straight to the point.
“I know you don’t want me bothering you anymore, but I couldn’t stop worrying.”
That was the only reason he had come.
No one knew how much Yara had influenced Aaron by now.
Stella had just been scrolling through her phone.
She had already seen the news that Aaron was getting married next month to a daughter of the Merlin family.
Honestly, she had been surprised.
“You saw the news about Aaron getting married next month, right?” Stella asked.
If so, then what Felix was worried about probably wouldn’t happen.
Felix clearly disagreed.

“Your brother is calculating. For all we know, this whole marriage announcement is meant to protect Yara.”
After all, Aaron had forced Yara to remain by his side in the first place.
Even with the blood of the Wright family on his hands, he had still kept her there.
That alone proved his feelings toward her weren’t simple.
And now, right when Stella returned to Eirden, he suddenly announced that he would be getting married next month.
Something about the timing didn’t add up.
Stella fell silent.
She already knew that Yara had been injured.
Evan had messaged her about it the night before.
Stella had returned yesterday, and Yara had ended up badly hurt that same day.
There was no need to guess who had ordered it.
Michael.
And now Aaron had suddenly announced his marriage.
The more Stella thought about it, the more Felix’s theory made sense.
Maybe Aaron was trying to protect Yara.
Maybe he wanted Michael to believe Yara was nothing more than a pet to him, someone who held no truly important place in his life.
Felix heard her silence.
“Have you seen Aaron yet?”
“Not yet.”
“Then see him.”
“You’re smart. You should be able to tell from the way he talks whether there’s more going on.”
Stella said nothing.
Smart?
A faint, mocking smile tugged at her lips.
If she were really that smart, she never would have been hurt so badly by Evan and Felix.
She had walked into their traps again and again.
What was so smart about that?
