Chapter 1293

e moment Aaron heard Stella was at the shooting range, he headed over immediately.

And when he arrived, the first thing he saw was Stella in Jane’s arms.

Bang!

A gunshot tore through the stillness of the mountains.

Startled birds burst from the trees and scattered into the sky.

“Remember how that felt, okay?” Jane said gently.

She released Stella from her arms and turned around.

That was when she spotted Aaron standing not far away.

Russ saw him too and immediately stepped forward.

“Mr. Hogarth.”

There was a chill in Russ’s voice.

He was clearly displeased that Aaron had followed Stella all the way here.

Aaron gave Russ an icy look and headed straight toward Stella, only for Russ to block his path.

By then, Stella had also noticed Aaron.

Her grip on the gun tightened slightly.

She looked at him coldly.

Their eyes met across the distance.

Just once.

Then Stella handed the gun to Remi and walked toward him.

“Miss Rowan?” Russ called.

His meaning was obvious.

If Stella didn’t want to see Aaron, she didn’t have to.

Not anymore.

“Wait over there for me,” Stella said.

“All right.”

Russ nodded.

If Stella wanted to speak to Aaron herself, he wouldn’t interfere.

He stepped aside.

Stella looked coldly at Aaron, and there was now the same disappointment in her eyes that Michael had shown

toward him.

No matter what had happened, Aaron was still her biological brother.

They had the same mother.

And yet because of the Wright family, their relationship had deteriorated to this point.

Deep down, Stella did feel a little hurt by it.

Of all the people in the world, the Wright family was probably the one she hated most.

And the one she wanted least to have anything more to do with.

Yet now…

Aaron was actually willing to fight with her because of them.

Sometimes, it really did feel as though the one thing she wanted most to escape would never truly leave her alone.

Aaron spoke first.

“You saw my calls?”

“Yes.”

“My messages too?”

“Yes.”

She had seen every call and every message.

She simply hadn’t responded.

Aaron’s breathing grew heavier.

“Then why didn’t you answer?”

“I didn’t want to.”

Stella said it without the slightest hesitation.

There was no deeper reason.

She simply hadn’t wanted to.

Aaron’s breathing turned heavier still.

“If you saw everything, then you know what this means.

“He might die.”

Yara had nearly been killed by Michael.

So if Evan really was in Michael’s hands now, there was little doubt about what would happen to him.

Aaron stared at her.

“Then did you say anything to Father…”

“No.”
