Chapter 1308
That was probably what hurt Stella most.
The Wrights were the people she hated most, yet her own brother had fallen for one of them.
No one in her position would’ve been able to accept that easily.
“Ms. Rowan went to Hogarth Corporation yesterday and today,” Jack said. “I imagine her father wants her to become more familiar with the family’s public–facing businesses.”
They wouldn’t let her become too involved in anything happening behind the scenes.
Everyone knew Stella’s temperament.
But Michael likely intended to hand the legitimate side of the business over to her.
After all, Aaron had been far too disappointing lately.
No, not just lately.
He had been disappointing Michael ever since Stella returned to Eirden last year.
“She should become more involved,” Felix said. “She never wanted to be nothing more than a sheltered princess.”
It was good for her to have something to do.
It would give her something else to focus on.
Felix had noticed it during their time near Mount Sima.
When Stella had nothing to do, all the life seemed to drain out of her.
This time, she’d only been back in Eirden for a few days.
But when Felix saw her again, she already felt completely different from the woman she’d been near Mount
Sima.
Back then, nothing had seemed capable of stirring her interest.
It had been as if she no longer had any desire to live.
“Ms. Rowan seems to have changed a lot since returning to Eirden,” Jack said.
Near Mount Sima, she’d looked so fragile that a gust of wind could’ve carried her away.
There hadn’t been a trace of life in her.
Now, she was clearly doing much better.
“She finally came to terms with everything,” Felix said with a faint smile.
“Came to terms with what?”

“Everything involving the Wrights.”
Even while Stella had been near Mount Sima, Evan had continued to affect her.
It had gotten even worse when she learned that the Clyde family had been responsible for her mother’s death.
Believing she had taken revenge on the wrong people had completely broken her.
