Chapter 1318

And now it was only Aaron.

“It’s fine,” Ivy said. “Your dad is on your side anyway.”

Before, Michael had been so busy that he hadn’t paid much attention to what was happening between Stella and Aaron.

But things were different now.

Stella had all of his attention.

“Exactly,” Stella said. “Aaron can say he’ll take everything back, but Dad would have to agree first.”

Because of Yara, Michael was already deeply dissatisfied with Aaron.

Naturally, he no longer wanted Aaron to retain control of so many assets.

Just as Stella finished speaking, Aaron called again.

She answered.

“What? Is there something else?”

“Are you sure Evan isn’t with Dad?”

Just like Gray, Aaron still found it difficult to believe.

After all, Michael was probably the person in Eirden who most wanted to eliminate Evan.

If Michael didn’t have him, then who did?

“He really isn’t.”

Stella’s voice was calm and indifferent, as though Evan truly meant nothing to her.

“You’ve gone too far,” Aaron snapped. “How could you play games with someone’s life?”

“Someone’s life?” Stella scoffed. “Since when have you cared about that?”

Aaron fell silent.

Her mocking tone infuriated him so much that he hung up again.

“I can’t believe he cares this much about whether Evan lives or dies,” Ivy said. “Those two once tried to kill each other.”

If she hadn’t witnessed it herself, she never would’ve believed Aaron could care so much about Evan’s safety.

“Who knows what he’s thinking?” Stella replied.

As far as Stella was concerned, there was probably more to the situation than met the eye.

But the fury in Aaron’s voice had been real.

So was his concern for Evan’s life.
