Chapter 170
Jennifer thought the same thing. There was plenty of time to go after Summer later. Why did Stella have to do it while she was still married?
And now look at the mess.
Evan had dug in his heels and refused to divorce her.
On top of that, he had dragged Felix into it too. Things were beyond chaotic now.
Stella let out a quiet sigh. “Forget it. I’m still trying to figure out how to make it up to Felix.”
Felix had had nothing to do with any of this in the first place, and now he had been dragged right into the
middle of it.
Jennifer said, “What’s there to figure out? Just take him out to lunch.”
Stella gave her a look. “You think Felix needs a meal from me?”
“This is basic thank-you etiquette.”
Need?
What could a man like Felix possibly need?
Not to mention the Hernandez family empire in his hands. Even his overseas businesses had been thriving long before he came back.
What could someone like him ever be lacking?
After breakfast, Jennifer left.
She said she would come back that night to sleep over with Stella again.
The moment she was gone, Stella thought for a while, then finally called Felix.
He picked up quickly. “Stella.”
His deep voice carried a trace of warmth.
“Evan’s probably going to come looking for you again.”
Felix went silent for a beat.
Then Stella added, “Are you free at noon? I want to take you to lunch.”
“With your condition, you shouldn’t be going out.”
Felix knew exactly how she was doing physically.
Stella said, “Come to Mount Pansworth. Or just come now.”
Evan was probably on his way to Felix already.
If Felix was not there, maybe it would keep the two of them from clashing.

On the other end, Felix smiled at the mention of Mount Pansworth. “Alright.”
He knew she was trying to help him avoid Evan, but he did not call her out on it.
After the call ended, Jack came in.
The moment he saw the faint smile on Felix’s face, he froze for a second.
Since when had his boss started smiling?
“Sir, Mr. Wright is here.”
The smile at the corner of Felix’s mouth immediately disappeared.
Looks like there was no avoiding this after all.
“Let him in.”
Jack nodded. “Yes, sir.”
When Evan was shown in, he saw Felix putting on his suit jacket, clearly getting ready to leave.
Evan’s face was cold. “Going somewhere?”
Felix gave a quiet hum in acknowledgment.
Ever since that night after the drinks, when Felix told Evan he supported Stella divorcing him, every meeting between them had felt wrong.
Each time they saw each other, neither of them looked pleased.
Evan’s expression darkened. “You were the one who picked her up halfway yesterday?”
The moment he asked that, the look he gave Felix was practically murderous.
Felix raised a brow at him. “And?”
“We’re still not divorced. What do you mean, and?”
That careless look in Felix’s eyes only sent Evan’s anger surging again.

At the words still not divorced, Felix let out a low laugh.
Evan’s face was already dark enough.
Seeing Felix laugh only made it worse. “Where is she?”
Felix looked at him. “Do you know what would’ve happened to her if the police had really taken her in yesterday?”
Evan went silent.
The smile faded from Felix’s face. His gaze sharpened, turning cold and severe.
If you looked closely, there was danger in his eyes too.
Evan pressed his lips together and met his stare without speaking.

Felix went on, “Your mother was the one who called the police. Fiona was the one who brought them to arrest her.”
“Do I need to remind your what Fiona was probably saying to those officers the whole time?”
The Wright family’s hatred for Stella-spoke for itself.
