Chapter 182
The line went dead silent
Fiona’s mind buzzed, and her whole body seemed to go numb.
It took her a long moment to react. “What did you just say?”
“We never brought Miss Rowan in. Mr. Hernandez personally picked her up on the way.’
Fiona: “”
Felix had picked Stella up.
He had actually picked Stella up himself.
And she had spent all this time imagining Stella being tortured all night in there.
No wonder Felix treated her that way today.
So that bitch Stella had never gone in at all. Felix had taken her away.
Did Evan know?
Thinking about all the calls Evan had made to her, Fiona picked up her phone.
She thought about it.
Then thought about it again.
In the end, she still didn’t dare call Evan directly.

Over at Wright Group-
The Port Yves project had Evan’s head splitting in two.
The meeting ran straight through until four in the afternoon.
When he finally came out of the conference room and returned to his office, he lit one cigarette after
another.
Patrick stood across from the desk, uneasy. The whole office was thick with smoke.
Evan said coldly, “Why would the Hogarth Group even want a project like Port Yves?”
Hogarth International Group.
That was the last thing he had expected.
At first, he assumed there had just been some disagreement with the project lead on the Port Yves side.
He never imagined that the world’s largest Hogarth Group had stepped in.
Patrick thought for a moment, his expression grave. “It’s hard to say. But one thing’s clear. The Port Yves project is definitely gone.”

Competition.
Inside Harbor City, there was hardly anyone who could truly compete with Wright Group.
Even Hernandez Group was only an equal match.
But Hogarth International was different.
Over the years, the Hogarth Group had spread across half the globe.
Before now, though, they had always expanded westward. They had never moved into this side of the world.

And yet this time, their first move into Harbor City in the East was over Port Yves, a project that shouldn’t even be significant to them.
Nothing like this had ever happened before.
Patrick knew exactly what kind of weight Hogarth International carried on the world stage.
It wasn’t just Evan who was shocked.
He was too.
After a pause, he looked at Evan carefully. “Do you have some kind of personal grudge with the Hogarth Group?”
Logically, a company like Hogarth would never care about a project like Port Yves.
And yet this time, they had stepped in directly and taken it.
From the look of it, it really did feel personal.
Evan shot him a cold look. “Do I look like I would?”
Patrick: “”
Right.
In theory, no.

He had been by Evan’s side for years, and Evan had never had any dealings with the Hogarth Group.
