Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 196

Chapter 196

A doctor who could betray her conscience like that…

Being investigated was already letting her off easy. As for the consequences she couldn’t see yet, who knew what kind of retribution was waiting.

Evan picked up his wine glass, took a sip, then set it down.

“She’s just a doctor. Why are you targeting her over your issues with Summer?”

Stella froze.

The faint smile on her lips stiffened instantly.

“You think I targeted her because of my conflict with Summer?”

Evan frowned. “Isn’t that the case?”

Stella let out a short, humorless laugh. “Sure. If that’s what you think, then that’s what it is.”

Looking at him like this, she suddenly felt like everything she had done was pointless.

How had she forgotten?

Whenever it involved her, he would always choose not to believe her first.

It had nothing to do with who the other person was.

Even if it wasn’t Summer.

“So I framed her. Happy now?” Stella said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. “I must’ve been bored out of my mind to go after a random doctor.”

Evan pressed his lips together. “That doesn’t benefit you in any way.

“Exactly,” she shot back. “It doesn’t benefit me at all. So why would I do it?”

So he did understand that much.

That it made no sense for her.

Evan fell silent.

Then why?

A thought suddenly surfaced in his mind.

But the moment it did, he pushed it away.

No. That couldn’t be it.

Or maybe… he just didn’t want to believe it.

Maybe he was afraid to.

Because if that thought were true, then what stood between him and Stella…

Evan took a slow breath.

“Let it go. It’s already in the past.

Stella let out a soft laugh. “Let it go? Something this big, and you don’t even want to look into it? Don’t you want to know why I’d go out of my way to frame a doctor?”

Evan’s voice hardened. “What more do you want?”

“What do I want?” She tilted her head slightly, her eyes glinting. “I want you to actually investigate it. Find out why I would do something like that.”

“You-”

The look in her eyes made his temper spike instantly.

He shoved his spoon down onto the plate with a sharp clatter, stood up, and walked upstairs without

another word.

He didn’t want to argue with her anymore.

The mess at Wright Corp was already enough to deal with.

If he kept going like this, she would drive him insane.

After he left, Marianne stepped forward.

“Ma’am, Mr. Wright really does care about you. If you keep pushing him like this, aren’t you just driving him closer to Miss Summer?”

From her perspective, Evan used to prioritize Summer. He was always at the main house.

Now that he had finally started spending more time here, Stella should cherish it.

Stella let out a quiet laugh.

“Don’t worry. Even if we divorce, he and Summer still won’t end up together.”

If she couldn’t have it, no one else would either.

Her marriage with Evan was over.

But Summer, who had schemed against her again and again using Evan, wouldn’t get her happy ending either.
