Chapter 248

At Mount Lara, when Dora arrived, the atmosphere between Evan and Stella was already at its worst.

Stella knew now.

Evan knew she had miscarried, and even so, he still believed Summer had nothing to do with it.

Dora didn’t bother hiding her hostility. “Where is the baby?”

Every word came out through gritted teeth.

Stella had no warmth for her either. She stood and kicked the stool over.

It slammed onto the floor with a loud crash, and the sound nearly sent Dora into cardiac arrest.

“You… who exactly are you giving attitude to right now?”

“To you.”

Stella didn’t soften it at all.

Dora’s face turned ashen with rage. She looked toward Evan. “You really should-”

“How about what? You expect me to take your attitude and just stand here quietly?”

Dora didn’t even get to finish before Stella cut her off coldly.

That made Dora’s vision go dark for a second. She glared at Stella.

Stella let out a cold laugh. “As far as I remember, I’ve never put up with you.”

The only difference was that back then Dora liked to play the good person in front of Evan. She wouldn’t openly clash with her.

She didn’t want direct conflict.

But Stella had never been the type to indulge her.

Dora pressed a hand to her chest. “Where is the baby?”

She didn’t want to waste another word on Stella.

All she wanted was to get the child back for Summer.

Looking at Dora being used like a weapon by Summer, Stella’s smile turned cold.

She said, one word at a time, “Even if that child is dead, it has nothing to do with me.”

That one word made Dora explode.

“Y-you’re actually cursing the child? You vicious woman!”

The second Stella said dead, Dora completely lost control.

She rushed forward and raised her hand to slap her.

But Stella caught her wrist midair.

The moment Dora tried to hit her, the tension between them turned razor-sharp.

Holding Dora’s wrist, Stella glanced toward Evan.

But this time, he just sat there on the couch, cold and still.

He made no move to stop Dora.

Stella understood.

He had fully decided the baby was in her hands, and now he was silently demanding she hand the child over.

“Let go of me, you vicious little bitch—”

Dora screamed and struggled to wrench her wrist free.

Stella looked away from Evan.

Dora kept cursing. “A woman as evil as you deserves to have no family. Maybe your relatives are all dead because of your own wickedness.

“And your baby? That child was cursed to death by your own evil heart. You don’t deserve to-‘
