Chapter 254
Outside, the ground was mess, covered with all the things Dora had dragged out and thrown everywhere.
Stella only glanced at them once before heading straight for Gray’s car.
Evan’s voice rang out behind her.
“If you walk away today, you are going to prison.”
It was a threat.
As if he were telling her that in all of Harbor City, the only way she could stay safe was by staying with him. That without Evan, no one could protect her.
Stella turned to look at him, a faint smile curling at her lips.
“You really think too highly of yourself.”
Maybe once upon a time, she truly had been nothing in front of the Wright family.
Back then, if the Wrights had wanted to send her to prison, or even lock her away in a psychiatric hospital, she would not have had the slightest ability to fight back.
That was why, no matter how angry she had been then, she had never dared force the issue of divorce.
But things were different now.
She was no longer afraid of the Wright family.
And she certainly was not afraid of Evan.
Evan narrowed his eyes, both hands clenched into fists.
Stella looked away, opened the car door, and got in.
The moment the car started, it sped off, pulling away from Evan’s sight as fast as possible.
Evan stood there watching the way Stella had left without even a hint of hesitation.
His entire body felt wrapped in rage.
Then Patrick called.
“Sir, you need to come back to the office right away.”
୮
The company was already drowning in problems, and now Summer and the baby kept spiraling into crisis
too.
Stella’s expression as she walked away without looking back flashed through his mind again.
For the first time, Evan felt completely drained.
“What happened now?”
Patrick answered in a heavy voice, “The Hogarth has set its sights on our Baggen City project.”

Baggen City was a border city near the Eirden crossing.
Evan’s brow instantly tightened. “Baggen City? All of it?”
“Yes. All of it.”
Patrick’s tone was grim.
The Baggen City development was a project they had only secured last year. The region had been unstable for years because of the fighting there.
Now all of Baggen City’s infrastructure work had been awarded to Wright Group.
The scale of the project spoke for itself. Once completed, the profits would be enormous.
For Wright Group, it was one of their biggest projects.
But for Hogarth Group, this should not even have been especially attractive.
Compared to their Port Yves project, it was not much bigger.
And yet Hogarth Group now seemed to know Wright Group inside and out.
Anything that was central to Wright Group’s operations, they went after.
No, not just went after.
They were snatching Wright Group’s projects away.
Hogarth Group. Wright Group.
Could it really be true that Hogarth Group was targeting Wright Group because of Felix?
Evan’s face darkened further.
He drove to the office as fast as he could.
On the way, Dora called too.
As expected, it was all about Summer losing her mind again over the baby.
By now, Evan felt nothing but helplessness whenever it came to this child.
Honestly, he did not even know what he was supposed to do anymore.
Stella had gone completely off the rails. There was no controlling her at all.
Listening to Dora go on and on over the phone only made his headache worse.
