Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 253

Chapter 253

As soon as she finished speaking, Dora turned and stormied out.

The door slammed shut behind her.

That left only Stella and Evan in the room

Evan turned to look at her, and the moment he saw the faint scratch his nails had left on her cheek, a sharp pain tore through his chest.

Almost instinctively, he reached out, wanting to touch the mark even though the skin had not broken.

But Stella immediately took a step back.

She looked at him coldly. She said nothing. That silent distance in her eyes left Evan feeling strangely

hollow.

“Was it really you?” he asked.

Deep down, there was still the slightest part of him that did not fully believe it.

He could not believe that the woman he had insisted on marrying, against everyone’s objections, could really be this cruel.

But if it was not her, then who else could it be?

Stella looked at the struggle in his eyes and said evenly, “You should trust yourself.”

That one sentence shoved whatever doubt Evan still had straight into the abyss.

“You…”

Stella said, word by word, “In this world, there may be people you cannot trust. But you should always trust. yourself.”

The sarcasm in her voice was razor sharp.

But Evan did not hear it.

His gaze turned cold.

And under the force of Stella’s words, he seemed to finally believe it completely. That she was the one who had taken the baby, and the one who had caused the baby’s death.

Evan closed his eyes for a moment. When he opened them again, it was as if he had made up his mind.

As he pulled out his phone, he said to her, “If that’s the case, then don’t blame me for what happens next.”

Stella clearly saw him keying in the number to call the police.

So he really was going to do it in the end.

Before the call could go through, Stella’s phone chimed.

It was a message from Gray.

‘Miss, I’m already outside. Do you want me to come in and get you?’

Stella replied with only two words.

‘No need.’

Then she slipped her phone back into her pocket and looked at Evan again.

He still had not made the call.

But at this point, that hardly made any difference.

Stella lowered her eyes from his phone and walked straight toward the door

As she passed him, Evan suddenly grabbed her wrist.

“If you’re innocent, I’ll make it right.”

At those words, Stella let out a laugh.

Now he wanted to talk about making it right?

If she really got dragged into this, or if she did not have Aaron behind her, then by the time she got out, she probably would not even still be alive to hear whatever explanation he planned to give.

The words make it right sounded almost ridiculous now.

Still smiling, Stella said, “No need.”

That laugh landed in Evan’s ears like something unbearable.

His breathing grew heavier.
