Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 260

Chapter 260

The Baggen City project had become a huge problem.

After Evan entered the conference room, he did not come out again for hours.

On top of that, the Port Yves project had already cost him heavily.

And there was something even worse.

Several projects that Hernandez Group had previously co invested in with Wright Group were now facing withdrawal too.

Those projects were already halfway through.

If Hernandez Group pulled all of its funding now, Wright Group would be left with a massive hole in its cash

flow.

Evan was furious and overwhelmed.

By the time Dora and Fiona arrived, Evan was still inside the meeting.

But Dora was in no mood to wait.

In a burst of anger, she headed straight for the conference room, only to be stopped by Warner from the secretary’s office.

“Madam, I’m sorry, but you can’t go in.”

“I have urgent business,” Dora snapped.

“But Mr. Wright is dealing with something urgent too,” Warner replied politely, though she clearly had no intention of letting Dora through.

After everything that had happened over the past six months, the whole company knew Stella did not get along with the Wrights.

If Stella came looking for Evan, it was always because she was fighting with his family.

And if his family came looking for Evan, then that could only mean one thing.

They were here to pressure him into divorce.

At this point, a lot of the younger employees in the company had drawn the same bitter conclusion.

No matter how capable a man was, if the people behind him lacked basic sense, they could ruin everything

Because of Evan’s personal mess, a good number of young people in Wright Group were now terrified of dating, terrified of marriage, or both.

Warner herself was practically ready to dump the man she was about to marry.

Fiona stepped forward. “You know perfectly well who she is, and you still dare block her?”

Warner touched her nose and answered with a straight face, “Miss Wright, the reason your allowance hasn’t been hitting your account lately is because the company is having cash flow issues.”

The entire secretary’s office had been miserable these past six months because Evan kept letting his personal feelings spill into work.

Warner had wanted to quit this awful job for ages.

So when Fiona looked at her like she was something beneath her shoe, Warner calmly fired back.

Fiona froze.

Dora froze too.

For a moment, both of their faces stiffened.

Then Fiona exploded.

“What nonsense are you talking about? You think Wright Group can’t even afford my allowance?”

What a joke.

That had been Evan’s punishment for her, all because of that bitch Stella.

And just thinking of that made her hatred for Stella rise all over again.

Warner said evenly, “It could before. Right now, it really can’t.”

Fiona and Dora both turned livid.

Especially Dora, who immediately barked, “What kind of nonsense are you spouting? Get out. There’s no place for you at Wright Group anymore.”

Warner stayed calm. “Please allow me my one month handover period.”

Seriously.

She worked here. She was not here to be treated like a dog.

The truth offended them, but she was not about to lie just to make them feel better.

Dora snapped, “No need. Get out right now.”

“But I have a contract with the company,” Warner replied. “If I leave without a proper handover, they’ll dock my pay.”

“You’re fired,” Fiona shot back, beside herself with anger.
