Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 261

Chapter 261

No matter how angry Dora got, Warner refused to let her in.

When they threatened to fire her, she calmly said that unless her direct supervisor personally dismissed her and the company paid the required compensation, she would not be leaving.

That only made Dora even angrier.

For a second, she almost thought she was seeing things.

Because in Warner, she could see the same defiant streak Stella had.

In the end, after all her rage and frustration, Dora wound up waiting for Evan until six in the evening.

He had been in meetings for hours without a break.

When he finally came out of the conference room, exhaustion was written all over his face.

Dora hurried forward.

The moment Evan saw her and Fiona, his expression darkened even more.

“What are you doing here?”

At this point, Evan was irritated the second he saw anyone from the Wright family, even his own mother

and sister.

Dora snapped, “Forget that for now. Fire this woman first.”

Thinking about Warner’s attitude and the things she had said, Dora pointed at her viciously.

The instant Patrick heard that Dora wanted Warner fired, he looked at Warner on reflex, silently asking

what she had done.

Warner pushed up her black framed glasses and answered evenly, “If Mrs. Wright believes I should be fired for refusing to flatter her, then the company will need to compensate me accordingly.”

“Enough,” Patrick cut in quickly.

She was still talking?

It was one thing for her to be strong willed at work, but did she really have to bring that same energy to the chairman’s mother?

Patrick had hired Warner in the first place because he liked that fire in her.

She handled everything with force and efficiency.

But that force had to be used in the right place.

Turning back to Dora, Patrick forced a smile. “Madam, Warner’s always been like this. Please don’t take it

to heart.”

Dora let out a cold snort.

She was not the only one furious. Fiona was too.

Evan glanced at Warner but said nothing. He just turned and walked straight into his office.

Dora shot Warner a vicious glare and followed him in.

Fiona did the same, throwing Warner an especially nasty look before stepping inside.

The moment the office door shut, Patrick rubbed his forehead.

“You managed to offend two of the hardest people in the building in one shot.

He had worked by Evan’s side for years. He knew exactly how difficult Dora and Fiona were.

Warner simply handed him a file.

“Divorce papers.”

“What?”

The second Patrick heard those words, his heart gave a jolt.

Warner said, “Madam sent them over.”

The way she said madam carried a trace of extra respect now.

Patrick, meanwhile, felt even more unsettled.

This time, Stella was serious.

Inside the office, Evan lit a cigarette and took a drag.

Fiona, still trying to hold back her anger, said, “Shé actually hit Mom. One of Summer’s babies is dead. Are you seriously still planning to let her get away with this?”

Evan answered in a tone so calm it was almost frightening.

“Didn’t you already call the police? Did I stop you?”

Fiona and Dora both went silent.

Hearing how eerily calm he sounded only made both of them tense up even more.

Just as Dora was about to say something, there was a knock at the office door.

Patrick’s voice came from outside.
