Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 279

Chapter 279

Back when Lucas first learned about Stella’s connection to the Hogarth Group, he had a hard time believing

But after watching the moves the Hogarth Group had been making against Wright Corporation lately, he

believed it now.

A cold smile touched Felix’s lips. “You’re a lot smarter than Evan.”

When it came to the Hogarth Group’s recent moves against Evan, Evan had pinned all of it on Felix without a second thought. It had never once occurred to him that Stella might have ties to the Hogarth Group

herself.

But Lucas had managed to piece it all together from every angle.

Hearing Felix say that, Lucas felt even more certain.

He clicked his tongue twice. “Evan’s brain has been scrambled by Summer lately.”

Then he shook his head. “No. It’s the whole Wright family. They’ve all been driving him crazy over her.”

Felix did not respond.

He had never liked talking about Summer.

Lucas sighed. “He drove me crazy last night too.”

If Evan had not spent the whole night rambling like that, Lucas would not have been this worried about Stella getting set up and dragged down by Summer.

Now, though, there was nothing left to worry about.

Stella was not allowed to leave Mount Pansworth now.

Aaron had given strict orders that until her condition stabilized, she was not to go anywhere.

That morning, Gray came in to report, “Miss Stella, we’ve picked up the divorce agreement. The lawyer has already taken it straight to the civil affairs office to finalize your divorce from Mr. Wright.”

Stella nodded. “Good.”

Her answer was calm.

She and Evan were over.

Truthfully, they should have ended things a long time ago. Evan had been the only one dragging it out.

This was better.

It was good that it was over.

That cage of a life, and the Wright family with their patronizing looks, whoever wanted it could have it.

As for Summer, how long did she really think she could keep benefiting from Mrs. Wright’s favor?

That fake old woman was as fickle as a stage performer switching masks.

The moment Ruby completely fell in Eirden, Summer’s good days in the Wright family would be over too.

Mrs. Wright was exactly that kind of person.

The second Ruby found herself a minor official to lean on in Eirden, Mrs. Wright immediately started treating Summer well again.

Her phone began to vibrate.

Stella glanced at the screen. It was Director Chancer from her old orphanage.

She answered at once. “Director Chancer.”

“Stella, everything at the orphanage has been settled. Thank you.”

“You don’t have to thank me.”

She had grown up in that orphanage.

And the disaster it had suffered this time had happened because of her in the first place.

Hearing that the orphanage had been settled brought her a small sense of relief.

“Do you remember Grandma Diana?”

“Grandma Diana? Of course I remember her.”

When Stella had first arrived at the orphanage, she had cried all the time. Grandma Diana had been the one who stayed by her side.

Later, though, Grandma Diana had gotten older and left the orphanage.

So why was Director Chancer bringing her up now?

“She’s dying. I just went to see her. We talked about you, and when she heard you married Mr. Wright, she said she wanted to see you one last time.”

“Now?”

The moment she heard that Grandma Diana was dying, Stella felt her chest tighten.

“Yes. Right now. She was always very fond of you. Come see her one last time.”
