Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 278

Chapter 278

Not until breakfast was over did Lucas speak again.

“So… one of Summer’s babies died, and the more I think about it, the more something feels off.”

Felix asked evenly, “What feels off?”

His calm tone made it sound like everything was already under his contro, like nothing could slip out of

place.

Lucas said, “I think she did it on purpose to frame Stella.”

Felix said nothing.

“Think about it. If the baby had really been fine, why didn’t she use the sick boy to set Stella up? Because she couldn’t get him out.”

As far as Lucas knew, the people Evan had stationed around the boy had been watching him closely this whole time.

If Summer had wanted to use the baby boy, who was already frail to begin with, to frame Stella, she would not have been able to pull it off.

Felix said, “So why use the healthy child?”

“Then that means the girl probably wasn’t healthy to begin with.”

The moment Lucas said that, Felix lifted his eyes and gave him a flat look from across the table.

Lucas kept going. “If the baby had actually been fine, she probably couldn’t have killed her just to frame Stella, right?”

At this point, Lucas was openly saying Summer had killed her own child. That alone showed just how vicious he thought she was.

And honestly, it made sense.

Over the past six months, Summer had tried every excuse imaginable just to keep hold of her brother-in-

law.

Every time Evan went back to Inkwood Manor, she found some way to call him away.

At first, she used her health as an excuse.

When that stopped working, she started using the pregnancy,

Later, she used both, the babies and her own supposed depression.

To Lucas, the children in her womb had always been nothing more than pawns.

Seeing Felix watch him in silence with that unreadable look in his eyes, Lucas continued, “The baby must have already been in bad shape. She used that chance to get rid of Stella too.”

“She wants Stella in prison, so there’ll never be any chance of her getting back together with Evan.”

The more he said, the more convinced he sounded.

Summer really was vicious,

Even after Stella and Evan got divorced, she still was not going to let it end there.

Felix asked, “So in your opinion, what does she do next?”

“Use the baby’s death to send Stella to prison.”

At that, a faint smile tugged at Felix’s mouth.

If that was Summer’s plan, then she was destined to be disappointed.

In the end, this little scheme of hers would only trap herself.

Lucas said, “I know I don’t approve of you and Stella, but you need to help her.”

Evan had lost all perspective.

And on Lucas’s side, his grandfather was watching him too closely. He would never allow Lucas to openly go against the Wright family.

So Lucas had placed all his hopes of keeping Stella out of prison on Felix.

Felix said, “She doesn’t need my help.”

Lucas twitched at that. “Yeah, fair enough. She really doesn’t need you.”

Thinking about who Stella really was, Lucas could not help wondering whether Evan would regret everything once he learned the truth.

Then, thinking of the rumors he had picked up recently, Lucas tested the waters. “Stella really is with the Hogarth Group…?”

He did not finish the question.

Felix gave him a deep, unreadable look. “You know quite a lot.”

As far as Felix was concerned, news of Aaron and Stella’s relationship had been kept tightly under wraps.

Lucas clicked his tongue. “You really think a company like the Hogarth Group would care about those Port Yves projects?”

Felix said nothing.

Lucas went on, “And that Baggen City project. Sure, it’s big, but not big enough to catch the Hargrove Group’s eye, right?

“And if you’re saying it’s because of you, because you have business ties with them? I don’t buy that.”
