Chapter 303

The restaurant’s design was striking. Every private room had a full view of the ocean, yet still offered complete privacy.

Felix had brought Stella here…

Just the two of them?

The air around Evan turned colder by the second.

“They’re already going on dates now?”

Damn Stella. They weren’t even divorced yet. How could she-

At that moment, Evan felt like he could strangle her.

Hearing the word “date,” Patrick didn’t even know how to respond.

The atmosphere in the hospital room was suffocating. One wrong word felt like it might set everything off.

Evan grabbed his phone and called Stella.

At the waterfront restaurant, the expansive dining room overlooked the open sea.

Felix set a bowl of soup in front of Stella. “This place has had great reviews since it opened. Try it.”

“Thank you.”

“How are you feeling now?” he asked gently.

His tone was warm, and beneath his deep gaze was a faint, almost hidden trace of concern.

He did feel sorry for her.

If he had known earlier that she was going to marry Evan, maybe things would have turned out differently.

Or maybe, like she said, it was fate.

Maybe it was what her mother had wanted.

Over the past while, she had already thrown the entire Wright family into chaos. If she kept going, she would drive every last one of them insane.

Stella nodded. “I’m better now.”

The chefs at Mount Pansworth cooked in a way that suited her more. And Aaron had been sending her all kinds of rare and valuable ingredients.

Compared to when she was with Evan-

Everyone around him had their attention fixed on Summer, that heartless, dangerous woman.

Felix nodded and carefully cut the foie gras for her.

Stella looked at him. Especially at his lowered gaze… and those long lashes.

Something stirred in her chest,

She asked, almost without thinking, “Before I married Evan… had we met before?”

Felix paused.

The hand holding his knife and fork stilled for a moment before he looked up at her.

That single look felt strangely familiar, sending something flickering through Stella’s mind.

Just as she thought he might say something-

He smiled faintly. “Don’t overthink it. Just focus on finalizing your divorce with Èvan.”

Stella fell silent.

Felix continued, “He’s been investigating Summer’s depression… and the real cause of the child’s death.”

At that, Stella’s heart sank.

He was investigating? Looking into whether the depression was real… and how her child had really died?

Investigating…

The word itself felt almost laughable.

What would it change? In the end, he would still find a way to convince himself to believe Summer.

Seeing her go quiet, Felix added, “You know what that means.”

“So much has happened lately, and he still doesn’t want to divorce you. If he finds out the truth…”
