Chapter 333

“You want motive, right?”

Dora had just been throwing accusations around, inventing motives out of thin air.

Stella could do the same.

Dora’s vision went dark with anger-

and right then, her phone rang again.

Her hand trembled as she answered. “What is it?”

“What? Baylor Manor is on fire too? What are you people even doing?!”

She nearly screamed.

Before she could process it, another call came in.

Then another.

And another.

One. Two. Three. Four-

Every call brought the same news.

Fire.

Different properties.

Some under her name.

Some under Fiona’s.

Even some under Evan’s.

Dora stood there, frozen.

In that moment, it felt like her entire world was collapsing.

She no longer had the energy to argue.

She turned and rushed out, stumbling slightly as she ran.

Stella watched her leave.

For the first time–

the tight knot in her chest eased, just a little.

Summer had taken her mother’s life.

For either of those-

she would make sure they lost everything.

Upstairs-

Fiona and Summer stared at the takeout.

Eat-

or don’t?

“She wouldn’t dare tamper with it this openly, right?” Fiona said, hesitating. “If something really happened, she wouldn’t get away with it.”

“You’re forgetting,” Summer said quietly, “she has Felix backing her.”

She didn’t dare eat.

But she was starving.

Fiona had brought fruit back earlier-

but Stella had even had their bags searched.

Now there was nothing left.

Fiona clenched her teeth. “Then what do we do? You can’t just not eat. Maybe…”

She paused.

Then said carefully, “Maybe we go out to eat?”

Under normal circumstances, Summer shouldn’t be going out.

But right now-

they had no choice.

This was only the first day.

And already, things were unbearable.

And Stella didn’t look like she had any intention of leaving anytime soon.

Summer hesitated. “Now? But outside…”

She didn’t finish the sentence.

The temperature had dropped sharply today.

The wind outside was harsh and biting.

Even if they had a car-
