Felix fell silent.
Hearing Evan’s speculation, Felix completely lost his patience and moved to hang up.
As if Evan sensed it, he continued shouting, “Any other time, fine. But Fiona’s fever won’t go down. This is a matter of life and death. Are you really going to let her die?”
Felix said coldly, “She deserves to die.”
Evan froze.
Hearing Felix’s cold, ruthless words, Evan stood in the hospital lobby as if all the blood in his body had reversed direction.
He had thought the walk through the late-night wind with Fiona on his back had already been cold enough.
But now, the temperature of his blood was colder.
And colder still was his heart.
“You watched her grow up too, didn’t you? Felix, is your heart made of stone?”
“Or did you and Stella make some kind of deal? You introduced her to that man at Hogarth Group, and in return, you help her take revenge on the Wright family?”
Overseas, there was Hogarth Group.
In Harbor City, there was Felix.
Did Stella hate him that much?
Did she hate the entire Wright family that much?
The Stella of now truly gave no one room to breathe.
Under Evan’s rage, Felix let out a low laugh on the other end of the line.
That laugh was full of mockery.
Evan’s breathing grew heavier. “I must have been blind to treat you as my brother all these years.”
This time, before Felix could hang up, Evan ended the call first in a fit of anger.
Felix was truly driving him insane.
Patrick stood behind Evan, watching his slightly trembling back. “Sir, what do we do now?”
“I really never saw this coming,” Evan said coldly.
For the first half of his life, he had probably never imagined anyone in Harbor City could force him to this point.
Stella.
He had truly underestimated her before.

She really dared to climb any powerful branch she could reach.
Did she even know what kind of force Hogarth Group was in Eirden?
A branch that high…
How many lives did she think she had to cling to it?
Patrick said nothing.
Hearing the coldness in Evan’s voice, he didn’t dare respond.
At this point, he didn’t know what to say.

She didn’t finish the sentence.
Her eyes grew heavier as she looked at Summer.
Summer’s heart jolted hard at those words.
“What do you mean?”
“If Mr. Hernandez helped that bitch clean up those matters, then he might also know we were the ones behind it.”
Summer asked, “Then why hasn’t he gone after us?”
If Felix knew, then based on how protective he was of Stella now, shouldn’t he have attacked them already?
Wouldn’t that be exactly what Stella wanted?
Mrs. Mendes said, “I don’t know the exact reason.”
Summer said nothing.
“But you need to tell Mr. Foster not to contact you for a while.”
Zeke Foster was another man in Harbor City who had been trying to build up power and resources of his
own.
Over the years, Summer had secretly transferred Wright Corporation’s resources to him more than once.
If he truly managed to establish himself, it would have a considerable impact on Felix too.
Summer took a deep breath. “We can’t stay in Harbor City anymore.”
It was too terrifying.
All of a sudden, it felt as if the Wright residence had trapped all of them.
They didn’t even know what was happening outside anymore.
Mrs. Mendes said, “But you can’t leave Harbor City right now.”
That was the deadliest part.
Before, Dora and Fiona had wanted to take Summer to Bayshore City for a while.
But they hadn’t been able to leave.
Now, every move they made seemed to be deliberately blocked by Stella.
If they wanted to leave, it wouldn’t be easy at all.
Summer said, “Then what am I supposed to do? Let that bitch trap me here and beat me to death?”
At that moment, an image flashed through Summer’s mind.
A turtle trapped in a jar.
That was exactly what they were now.
