Chapter 464
Just as Stella had expected.
If she had told Evan from the start that Summer had a relationship with Frank, Evan never would have
believed her.
He might even have turned it around and accused her of slandering Summer.
But now, he had seen it with his own eyes.
That made things truly interesting.
He might not believe Stella, but surely he had to believe his own eyes at least a little.
Outside the fast-food restaurant, Summer was so frightened that cold sweat broke out across her body.
On the phone, Frank was furious.
“I told you, you shouldn’t be asking me to help you with anything right now. And now look. You insisted that I come pick you up, and Evan just happened to see us!”
“Summer Bailey, I’m warning you. If Evan finds out about us, we’re both finished!”
Frank exploded over the phone.
Before, he had called her baby so affectionately.
Now, he was speaking to her with nothing but anger.
The speed of that change was almost faster than turning a page.
Summer had already suffered enough under Stella’s watch these past few days.
Right now, Frank was the only person she could rely on.
But he was speaking to her like this. The grievance in her chest nearly overwhelmed her.
She sniffed, her voice tight. “What kind of attitude is that?”
“What kind of attitude do you expect from me? I told you our plan was about to succeed. I told you to endure a little longer. But you wouldn’t listen. You just had to make me come pick you up tonight!”
“You’re blaming me? How was I supposed to know Evan would follow us?”
Hearing Frank accuse her over the phone, Summer felt her heart go cold.
She had done so much for him over the years.
Frank had clearly been gentle with her before.

“Do you understand that if the Wright family becomes suspicious of me at a time like this, we’ll both die?
“This is all your fault. Don’t you know the Wright family can’t find out about us right now?
“Are you trying to get us both killed? Is that what you want?”
Over the phone, Frank showed Summer no mercy at all.
Every accusation tore at her heart.
Summer said nothing.
Would they die?
How was that possible?
It was only their relationship being discovered by the Wright family. Could the consequences really be
that serious?
Summer did not believe it.
Frank snapped, “Hurry up and think of a way to explain this to Evan. I’m sure he knows you got into my car. That’s why he followed us here!”
It had been an hour.
Their car had been parked here for a full hour now. Frank had been hiding inside the fast-food restaurant the entire time, not daring to come out.
Summer did not dare get out of the car either.
And Evan had not gotten out of his car.
Clearly, he was waiting them out.
It was this silent standoff, with no one knowing exactly what the other side knew, that made it even more
unbearable.
“I… What am I supposed to come up with?”
When Summer heard Frank telling her to think of a solution, she nearly exploded with anger.
Now, at a critical moment like this, he wanted her to solve it?
If Evan had personally seen her get into Frank’s car, then there was no good way to explain it.
She thought of Evan and Dora’s conversation some time ago.
When they discussed Steven’s death, they had mentioned Frank. It was obvious they had some suspicion that Frank was connected to Steven’s death.

If Evan really had seen her get into Frank’s car, then she truly could not explain it.
Frank was furious. “That’s your problem. Who told you to keep pestering me to pick you up tonight?”
