Chapter 468
At first, Evan had always suspected that Steven’s death might have had something to do with Frank.
But before this, he had also felt that some parts of that suspicion did not quite hold up.
Back when he had not known Frank and Summer were involved, Frank and Steven had only been
business rivals.
No matter how fiercely the two men had fought over the years, it still did not seem as if things would have escalated to murder.
So even though Evan had been suspicious, because he had never found anything solid enough to support it, he had eventually pushed the thought aside.
But now, things were different.
The moment he saw Summer get into Frank’s car, the suspicion in Evan’s heart began growing wildly.
By now, it had turned into certainty.
Inside the car, Summer looked at Frank lying on the ground outside, covered in blood, and fear shook her
to the core.
Evan really could kill someone.
Her voice was suffocated as she said into the phone, “Even if you don’t want to acknowledge me as your daughter right now, save me this once. I really don’t know what to do anymore.”
At that moment, her tone was almost pleading.
Ruby’s voice was cold. “Now you don’t know what to do? Weren’t you very good at dragging Stella into everything back at the Wright estate?”
Summer froze.
The moment she heard that, her breathing stopped.
Ruby said, “If you don’t handle this properly, and if you drag the Shaw family down with you, then you can go die.”
The Shaw family.
Clearly, everyone had now recognized the truth.
Evan was only powerless against Stella.
If anyone else provoked him, they would still lose a layer of skin.
Only Summer had thought that because the Wright family was in its current state, it did not matter.
But that earlier indifference of hers had now caused Frank to nearly die at Evan’s hands.

Ruby said the word die with such cruelty that it was as if the person on the other end of the call was not her daughter, but her enemy.
And perhaps that was true.
In Ruby’s heart, anyone who threatened the Shaw family was her enemy.
So what if that person was her own daughter?
Summer’s breathing quickened. “I understand.”
“What about Andrew? Why hasn’t that been handled yet? What exactly did Evan do to him?”
When Ruby mentioned Andrew, her voice finally carried a rare trace of warmth.
But Summer heard it clearly.
That warmth was not for her.
When had it started?
When had her mother completely begun favoring Andrew over her?
She was Ruby’s biological daughter.
“I don’t know what Evan did to him,” Summer said. “Every time I mention Andrew, Evan ignores me.”
What did she even count for in the Wright family now?
Ever since Stella started fighting back so forcefully, Summer’s old tricks only irritated Evan.
As for Dora, she no longer even bothered to hide it.
In the end, when things were going well, they could treat anyone like a treasure if they wanted to. But that depended on whether the person still had value.
Dora’s unstable attitude toward Summer lately was probably because Ruby still had not solved the problem in Eirden.
Dora had always been practical.
That was why she had raised Fiona to be just as practical.
If Fiona had not behaved the way she did, why would the Felix family look down on them so much this time?
