Chapter 475
The people Stella had brought with her were strong.
Evan had plenty of men under him too, but he knew that the moment he called more people over, Stella would only bring in even more.
And besides…
Deep down, he still did not want things between him and Stella to reach that point.
But his restraint had not made Stella back down.
Just like now. He had told Stella to stop, but she walked straight into the dining room and sat down.
The maids calmly served her breakfast.
Everyone watched.
The Wright family had barely eaten these past few days. Now, seeing the steaming plate of loaded omelet with bacon, mushrooms, cheese, and crispy breakfast potatoes, it was almost as if everyone could hear themselves swallowing.
Even Dora, who had been in the middle of a furious argument, froze for a moment.
Stella took a bite of the omelet and nodded. “Mm. This is really good today. The filling is delicious.”
She had been eating nothing but nourishing meals lately.
Those things were good for her body, but they had very little flavor. After a while, no one could really stand eating like that every day.
Gray nodded respectfully. “If you like it, Miss, please eat more.”
“I will.”
Stella ate several more bites in a row.
The others could only watch, hungry and resentful.
Only after finishing most of the omelet, some breakfast potatoes, and a bowl of oatmeal did Stella finally feel comfortable.
Once she was full, she slowly looked at Evan.
At that moment, the anger in Evan’s eyes looked as if it could burn everything down.
Stella said, “Do I have to stop walking before I’m worthy of hearing you speak?”
The moment she said that, everyone snapped back to attention.
Evan’s chest shook hard.

This was how she spoke to him now.
Every word came with thorns.
She had never been like this before.
But why had things become like this?
Was it only because she had asked for a divorce and he had refused?
Was that why she hated him so much now? Was that why she was tormenting everyone like this?
Evan closed his eyes.
When he opened them again and looked at Stella, his gaze was even colder.
“It was you, wasn’t it?”
Dora and Fiona froze.
Neither of them understood what Evan meant by that sudden question.
They both looked at him in confusion.
Summer, however, understood immediately.
As she lowered her eyes, a trace of smugness flashed through them.
See?
She knew Evan would believe her.
Her mother really was clever. If Ruby had not reminded her, Summer would not have known how to get through this crisis.
Now that Evan was questioning Stella like this, Summer knew she had successfully survived this round.
Stella understood too.
A faint smile curved her lips.
She looked at Evan, then at Summer, who had her head lowered.
Then Stella said with a smile, “Evan saw you get into Frank’s car with his own eyes. After that, he saw you get out of Frank’s car with his own eyes. So tell me, Summer. What exactly did you say to him. afterward?”
Summer froze.
Being called out by Stella so directly made her heart jolt.
Her body stiffened too.

Yes, Evan believed her now. She had gotten through this with Evan.
But how had she forgotten?
The person she truly needed to get past was Stella.
Summer shook her head, her voice tight. “No. I didn’t say anything.”
“Oh?” Stella said. “Then why would he ask such a stupid question?”
The word stupid was filled with mockery.
And it was stupid.
