Chapter 474
Seeing Summer look at Evan again, Dora turned on him too.
“And you! Why did you bring her back after something like this?
“You should have killed her and Frank right then and there!”
The moment she said that, the atmosphere in the living room turned tense.
Summer looked at Dora in disbelief.
Last night, her own mother had said something similar to her. She had told Summer she should just die.
And now Dora…
Dora was saying Evan should have killed her and Frank on the spot?
Even if they had fallen out, Dora should not be treating her like this.
The child she had given birth to was still Dora’s grandson.
All of a sudden, Summer felt that Dora’s heart was far more vicious than she had ever imagined.
Her voice tightened. “Mom, how can you say that? I already told you. Frank and I are not what you think.”
“Then what are you?” Dora snapped. “Tell me. Why did you get into his car? He was Steven’s enemy. When you were getting tangled up with him, did you ever think about Steven?”
The more Dora spoke, the angrier she became. By the end, she was hurling filthy accusations without
restraint.
Summer’s face turned completely white.
“Enough. Stop talking!”
Evan spoke sharply, cutting Dora off.
When Dora saw his attitude, her anger only grew.
“Enough? Evan, tell me, what exactly is enough?
“She could be the person who helped kill your brother. Are you protecting her now?”
It was one thing that he had protected Stella before.
But now, facing someone who might have caused his brother’s death, he still wanted to protect her?
At this moment, Dora was more than irrational.
She was practically out of her mind.
Evan said, “This isn’t as simple as you think.”

“What do you mean it isn’t simple? You saw her get out of Frank’s car with your own eyes. What about that isn’t simple?”
He had seen it himself.
That meant Summer and Frank were involved.
So how was this not simple?
Evan did not want to explain too much to Dora. He glanced at one of the maids nearby.
“She still isn’t up?”
Because of Dora’s shouting, Evan’s tone was harsh too.
But he seemed to have forgotten one thing.
Every maid in this house had been brought here by Stella. None of them answered to him.
So when he asked in that irritated tone, the maid did not respond at all. She did not even spare him a glance.
Seeing that even a maid dared to treat him like this, Evan almost lost his temper.
What the hell was this?
In his own home, he was living like he had no standing at all.
Even a maid dared to look down on him now.
Just as Evan was about to explode, Stella walked down the stairs.
The moment she heard Evan asking whether “she” was awake, a deep, mocking smile curved her lips.
She probably knew what Evan meant now.
She and Jennifer had guessed correctly.
They had predicted what Summer would do.
And they had also predicted that, with Evan’s brain, he would believe her.
Sure enough, he believed her.
He truly had not disappointed them.
When the maids saw Stella come downstairs, they respectfully went to the foot of the stairs.
“Miss.”
Hearing the sound, Gray came out from the kitchen as well.
Because Aaron was keeping such a close eye on Stella’s health, Gray personally supervised everything

Just now, while the Wright family had been shouting and arguing, he had paid them no attention at all. He simply kept doing what he needed to do.
“Miss, you’re awake.”
