Chapter 488
Did Stella need people to do chores?
Of course she didn’t.
Everything she was doing now was only meant to torment Summer.
She would not let Mrs. Mendes help her. She would not even let Mrs. Mendes share food with her.
Stella was determined to grind her completely into the mud.
Summer clenched her fists in fury. “She really knows how to play this game.”
These methods seemed small and simple, but they were the most torturous.
Still, Summer refused to give in.
She did not want to submit just like that.
She stormed away from Mrs. Mendes in anger. When she returned to the main house, she ran into Dora, who was doing chores.
Seeing Dora looking like a servant, Summer looked down on her from the bottom of her heart.
At that moment, she seemed to have forgotten that when she had still been recovering after childbirth, the food she had eaten had come from Dora and Fiona’s labor.
Back then, she had stayed in her room and known nothing.
When Dora saw Summer, all the old warmth and courtesy were gone.
“Bitch.”
She spat out the word with a hostile glare.
Summer’s face darkened instantly.
“Why are you yelling at me? If you can bring Stella under control, then I’ll call that real ability.”
All of them were now being crushed beneath Stella.
Before this, the three of them had at least seemed to stand together no matter what.
But now, because of Stella, they had completely turned against one another.
The way Dora looked at Summer no longer resembled the way a mother-in-law looked at her daughter-in-law.
She looked at Summer like an enemy.
Dora snapped, “Ability? What ability do I have? I couldn’t even see through the true face of a bitch like you. What ability could I possibly have?”
To Dora now, whether she had ability or not no longer seemed to matter.
What enraged her most was that she had failed to see Summer for what she really was.
She had even treasured her all this time.
Now Dora truly regretted it.

If she had known Stella had this kind of power, she never would have allowed Stella to enter the Wright family, no matter what.
Even if she had to die in front of Evan, she would have stopped Stella from marrying into the family.
As for Summer, Dora regretted that too.
Back then, Summer had been doing well in business, and then there was that incident.
At the time, Harold had been outside with…
Thinking of all the past events, and all the reasons she had chosen Summer to be Steven’s wife, Dora felt her chest ache with anger.
Now the Wright family had become like this, and Harold still had not returned from overseas.
To outsiders, he claimed that he still had business abroad to handle.
But Dora knew exactly what Harold was really doing overseas.
Summer said, “Say whatever you want. Frank and I are not what you think.”
After everything that had happened over the past day and night, Summer was physically and mentally exhausted. She no longer had the energy to keep a pleasant attitude.
At this point, she had been pushed so far that she was simply tired of dealing with all of it.
“Then tell me. What exactly are you and Frank? Go on. Say it!”
As she spoke, Dora stepped forward and slapped Summer twice.
Every time she thought Summer might have joined forces with Frank to kill Steven, she wanted to kill her.
And as soon as that thought came, her hands followed.
Dora grabbed Summer by the throat and squeezed hard. “Tell me. Did you and Frank kill Steven? Did you?”
Summer grabbed Dora’s hands. “I only happened to run into him and asked him to give me a ride to the hospital!”
Hearing that, Dora tightened her grip even more.
“You think I’ll still believe that nonsense? In front of Stella, you admitted it yourself. You admitted you framed
her this time!”
Dora did not believe her at all.
Summer said, “Didn’t you see her forcing me? Forget it. Believe whatever you want!”
Dora did not have much strength left, so Summer managed to shove her away.
Dora stumbled to the side and glared at Summer.
Clearly, she no longer believed her.
