Chapter 517
Hearing Patrick speak with such certainty, Evan’s grip on the cigarette still tightened.
No depression.
Summer had never had depression at all.
Lucas’s words from before flashed through his mind.
Why hasn’t Summer had an episode these past few days? Did she forget?
And then there were the days shortly after Steven’s death, when Summer had repeatedly made scenes because of her so-called depression.
Several times, Stella had told him, If she really had depression, she wouldn’t just be making a scene.
She would die.
She would die quietly.
She would die somewhere none of you could even find her.
Back then, whenever Stella said those things, he had only accused her of being vicious.
But now…
“She doesn’t have depression?”
Although it sounded like a question, Evan’s voice was already laced with a vicious, clenched-teeth edge.
Patrick nodded. “No.”
“If she really had depression, she wouldn’t have needed to bribe a doctor.”
That was right.
If she really had depression, there would have been no need to bribe a doctor.
The fact that she had bribed him already explained everything.
Evan thought of Stella’s doctor before. That doctor had also been bribed, fired, and even exposed in the news.
That had been Summer’s doing too.
Hers, and possibly Helen Bailey’s.
At this moment, the trust Evan had always held on to collapsed with a crash.
And yet he still tried to pick up a few pieces.
“Is it possible Stella did this?”
Patrick fell silent.
Stella did this?
Did what?

Bribed the hospital director?
“Does she have any reason to do that now?” Patrick asked in confusion.
If Stella truly wanted to fight Summer head-on, then yes, she might have done something like this.
But the problem was…
At this stage, she had no need to.
Summer was already firmly under her control. She had no strength left to fight back at all.
Under these circumstances, what reason would Stella have to do such a thing?
Evan said, “Of course she has a reason. She wants to destroy my trust in Summer. She wants to destroy my trustin the entire Wright family.”
Patrick was silent.
Destroy his trust?
Put that way, it was not entirely unreasonable.
But the problem was…
“She probably doesn’t even care enough to do that anymore.”
For Stella to want to destroy Evan’s trust, she would first have to care about gaining his trust.
But did Stella want Evan’s trust now?
1 No.
She did not want it at all.
The Stella of today wanted nothing from him.
She only wanted the Wright family estate, Wright Group, and all the Wright family’s money.
That being the case, whether Evan trusted her or not meant nothing to her.
“What do you mean she doesn’t care?” Evan bit out coldly. “Her mind is vile and poisonous.”
Patrick said nothing.
Meanwhile, Stella had only just discovered that Felix was very good at choosing places to eat.
Every restaurant he brought her to had its own distinctive flavor.
And Stella liked them.
“This lamb is grilled so well.”
The lamb really was delicious.
She had eaten good grilled lamb before, but today’s lamb chops were especially well done. The flavor was comforting and satisfying.

She had barely taken a few bites when Evan called.
