Chapter 528

Dora felt like she was suffocating.
As soon as she thought of what Stella had just said to her, the pressure in her chest became so heavy she could barely breathe.
“Mom, what are you doing? Why is your face so pale? What did she say to you?”
Dora had gone to confront Stella in anger after learning that Stella wanted everything from the Wright family.
Now that she had come back looking so pale, Stella must have said something awful.
Fiona was furious too.
Stella even wanted her money.
She had said all of the Wright family’s money. Everyone’s money.
How could her appetite be that huge?
Marital assets were one thing. Even those had to be divided.
But Stella was not just refusing to split marital property. She even wanted money that belonged to the other members of the Wright family.
Fiona had never seen anyone this greedy before.
Dora’s hands ached painfully from the cold. Trembling, she looked at Fiona and asked, “Am I the root of all the Wright family’s sins?”
As she said this, her eyes turned red.
Fiona froze.
“What?”
Dora asked, “Has the Wright family become like this because of me? Is this my fault?”
“No. Is that what Stella said to you?”
That bitch.
What nonsense was she spouting now?
Stella was the one without morals or basic decency, yet now she was dumping her own viciousness onto someone else.
Seeing Dora so consumed by guilt, Fiona felt deeply distressed.
Tears slid down Dora’s face. “Maybe it is because of me. If it weren’t for me, she and your brother might

have stayed happy together. If their relationship had stayed good, none of this would have happened.”
Stella’s firm, word-by-word accusation had shaken Dora.
Now, Dora was starting to believe that everything had become this way because of her.
Fiona said, “Mom, no. She’s just greedy, and she found herself a convenient excuse.”
“No. It’s because of me. What was I even doing back then? I actually wanted Summer to be with your
brother. That bitch.”
Now, whenever Dora thought about the fact that she had once wanted that, she felt disgusted.
Thank goodness they had not ended up together.
If Evan and Summer had really become a couple, Dora would be sick to her stomach now.
At the mention of Summer, Fiona’s expression darkened too.
“It’s all because of that bitch.”
Dora was blaming everything on herself.
But Fiona did not see it that way.
To her, Summer had always been coveting Evan.
Summer was the one who had ruined Evan and Stella’s relationship, which had led the Wright family to
this point.
Dora said, “Your brother’s death must have been caused by her and Frank together.”
At the mention of Steven, Dora’s heart ached even more.
Steven had been such an outstanding son.
And he had been destroyed by Summer and her lover.
And now Summer still dared to keep seeing Frank.
“What kind of judgment did I have back then?” Dora said. “How did I fail to see what kind of monster she really was?”
At this point, Dora was more than regretful.
Every time she thought about what kind of person Summer truly was and how she had failed to see through her, she felt disgusted.
Fiona said, “She was too good at pretending.”
Dora fell silent.
