Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 838

Chapter 838

The line crackled with hostility.

Felix’s anger was so intense that Eyan could feel it through the phone.

When Felix was too furious to answer, Evan gave a low laugh.

“The Wright family may be gone, but you still can’t take me down, Felix.”

Did Felix really think the version of Evan he had seen in Harbor City was all there was to him?

Back then, Evan had not wanted the Wright family to collapse, so he had given in to Stella again and again.

And when Stella wanted Dora and the others to pay that kind of price, part of him had struggled to accept it.

There had even been moments when he considered using the forces he had in Seaborne.

But that would have meant turning them against Stella.

And in the end, he could not do it.

If this had only been about Felix, Evan might have been willing to burn everything down with him.

But Stella was involved.

Even after things between them had reached that point, he still could not bring himself to go that far.

“Is that so?” Felix said.

“You call me dishonest for lying to Stella, but have you ever truly been honest with her?”

Felix said nothing.

“Do you dare tell her why you really came to Eirden?”

Felix remained silent.

“Between gratitude and self-interest, Felix, I don’t believe gratitude is what matters most to you.”

Stella had saved Felix once.

But when that debt of gratitude became tangled up with profit and power, would Felix still choose gratitude?

Evan did not think so.

To Felix, that so-called debt of gratitude probably meant very little after all.

“You talk too much.”

Felix ended the call.

Jack arrived moments later.

Felix got into the back seat, lit a cigarette, and took several hard drags.
