Chapter 906
Stella had already been angry.
Hearing Evan say that only infuriated her more.
This time, she hung up without another word.
Already on his way to the Black Sea, Evan was not surprised in the slightest when Stella ended the call.
Amos had overheard most of the conversation.
“Your wife has quite a temper,” he remarked, handing Evan a glass of red wine.
“If she didn’t, do you think the Wright family would’ve ended up in ruins?”
Amos fell silent.
Fair point.
Had Stella been even slightly more forgiving, the Wright family would never have fallen apart the way it had.
“Are you blaming her?” Amos asked.
Surely Evan resented her at least a little.
The Wright family had once been immensely powerful, yet Stella had torn it apart almost single-handedly.
Worse, she had joined forces with Felix to do it.
Most men would never have been able to forgive that.
Yet Evan had never once considered letting her go.
That was what Amos found most surprising.
“Blame her?” Evan asked. “What right do I have?”
He drained the wine in his glass, irritation tightening his expression.
At that moment, he thought of the child he and Stella had lost.
If he had trusted her even a little back then, their child would be two years old by now.
But it was too late for regrets.
“Felix and Aaron are definitely going to fight you for her,” Amos said. “You’re really making things difficult for yourself.”
Amos was not particularly concerned about Felix.
Aaron, however, could be completely unhinged when provoked.
“Didn’t Aaron originally have no idea Felix was going to the Black Sea?”
Felix had initially made all the arrangements in secret.
So how had Aaron suddenly learned about it and agreed to let Stella go with him?
Amos had assumed Felix was acting behind Aaron’s back.
