Chapter 909
Before Stella arrived, Evan had been anxious because he had no idea whether Seymour would manage to bring her out.
But now she was here.
So why did he still look so troubled?
When Evan remained silent and took another drag from his cigarette, Amos frowned.
“Seriously, what’s wrong with you?”
“Do you think it’ll actually work?”
“What?”
The question came out of nowhere, and Amos had no idea what Evan meant.
“That shameless persistence you told me to try on her.”
Amos fell silent.
Well…
“She doesn’t seem to be falling for it,” Evan muttered.
The truth was, Evan had never even considered acting this way before.
It had been Amos’s idea.
“Of course it won’t work right away,” Amos said.
Evan’s expression darkened instantly.
“Then why did you give me such terrible advice?”
His mood changed so quickly that Amos almost laughed.
“How is it terrible advice? Tell me, do you have another option right now?”
“Other than shamelessly refusing to leave her alone, what else can you do?”
Evan fell silent.
Because Amos was right.
He truly could not think of any other way.
“Stop overthinking it,” Amos said. “She’s with you now.”
“It doesn’t matter whether she falls for it. As long as you refuse to let go, there’s not much she can do.”
“Sometimes shameless persistence is the only thing that works with a woman.”
Amos sounded as though he was speaking from extensive personal experience.
Evan gave him a flat look.
“What are you looking at me like that for?”
“Is that how you did it?”
