Let’s Divorce Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice novel Chapter 960

News of Leon’s engagement to Monique had only just been announced.

Then word that Jennifer was carrying his child spread everywhere almost immediately afterward.

Leon fell silent.

When Jennifer brought up the abuse she was receiving online, his chest tightened.

“They’re calling me a homewrecker,” she said. “They say I’m shameless and trying to use this baby to force my way into your family.”

“I’m already having the stories taken down,” Leon interrupted.

The conversation was suffocating him.

He had never expected the news to spread so widely.

But when he mentioned suppressing it, he looked at Jennifer.

A flicker of suspicion crossed his eyes.

It disappeared quickly, but Jennifer caught it.

He actually suspected her.

Jennifer raised an eyebrow, a smile curving her lips.

“What? You think I leaked the news myself? That I really am trying to use this baby to get what I want?”

“No. That’s not what I…”

“Then who are you suspicious of?”

He had been looking directly at her.

Who else could that suspicion possibly have been aimed at?

Jennifer had already given up on this man.

Now whatever remained of her feelings died even more completely.

“Disgusting,” she said softly.

“Everyone in the Redson family knows I’m carrying your child. Monique knows too, doesn’t she?”

“There are plenty of people you could suspect, yet the first person you doubt is me?”

“Or do you think everything I’ve done to get rid of this pregnancy has just been an act?”

That had to be what he believed.

At least in that moment.

Otherwise, why would he have looked at her that way?

Jennifer could no longer describe what she felt toward Leon.

She only wanted all of this to end.

She did not need to understand him or feel anything more.

Guarding against her trying to use the baby to marry into his family.

“I really don’t think that,” Leon said. “Stop reading into it.”

“It doesn’t matter.”

Whether she had misunderstood him or not no longer mattered.

“Don’t do anything to end the pregnancy,” Leon warned.

When it came to the pregnancy, he refused to compromise.

“You really have no shame, Leon.”

The entire city was tearing Jennifer apart, yet he still expected her to give birth to his child.

Who did he think he was?

“Don’t pay attention to the rumors,” Leon said. “They’ll die down soon.”

“Have you even investigated who leaked the news?”

Leon said nothing.

“Not many people knew,” Jennifer continued. “Finding out who released it shouldn’t be difficult for you.”

He could silence thousands of people online.

So why had he supposedly been unable to identify the one person who started it?
