Love After Leaving: No Regret (Agnes and Raymond) novel Chapter 103

Chapter 103 Ultimatium

Finished

“The woman in the video is the same one in the photo-it’s Agnes herself! She has enemies everywhere!” Hillary said quickly.

“She’s that kind of person. Always causing trouble, stirring things up. She lies all the time, Raymond!”

Raymond looked at her calmly. “But Lucy said you told her to do it.”

Hillary let out a bitter laugh. “How could I? I don’t even know that woman. She’s a complete stranger to me. Haven’t you thought about it? What if Agnes planned all this herself? What if she worked with others just to put on a show for you?”

Raymond rested his chin on his hand and gave her a faint, amused look. “Oh? Then what do you think her goal is?”

“She doesn’t want to divorce you!” Hillary said quickly. “She’s trying to turn you against me. Can’t you see that, Raymond? Everything-everything-is controlled by her. I’m even starting to think she reported my doctor on purpose.”

Inside, Hillary was panicking. She had no idea how much Raymond already knew. Everything had happened too fast. She wasn’t prepared. Now she could only talk and hope to distract him.

Raymond spoke slowly. “Hillary, I remember your friend Gabrielle. Her mother works at the cafeteria at St. Austen University, right?”

He paused.

“I had someone check the place these past two days. Out of everyone there, only Gabrielle’s mom reported a missing key for the freezer. Everyone else still had theirs.”

He looked straight at her.

“Don’t you think that’s a little too much of a coincidence?”

Hillary’s mind went blank. She had gone to Gabrielle. She had taken the key.

After that, Lucy-being nervous and careless-lost it while trying to run away.

Hillary had worried about this before. What if someone found out? And now, the worst had happened.

“Maybe… maybe it really is just a coincidence,” she stammered. “I haven’t been in touch with Gabrielle for a long time. The last time we met was at a class reunion.”

Raymond’s lips curved slightly. “That’s strange. Gabrielle said you saw each other recently. And just so you know–both Gabrielle and Lucy said you were the one giving orders.”

Hillary froze. That useless Gabrielle actually betrayed her.

Raymond stood up and walked closer. He looked down at Hillary, who had collapsed on the floor. His

voice was cold.

Chapter 103 Ultimatium

“Do you want to see what Lucy looks like right now?”

Finished

Before Hillary could reast several photos drifted down in front of her. They showed Lucy, covered in wounds, her skin torn and bleeding.

Hillary screamed. “Ah! No-no! Stop! Please-no!”

Her eyes rolled back, and she fainted on the spot. Before, whenever she did this, Raymond would panic. He would rush to help her and call a doctor right away.

But this time, nothing. She lay there for a long while. No movement. No voice.

He was just going to let her lie there? Was this trick not working on him anymore?

Time passed, slowly and painfully. She couldn’t take it anymore. Lying still like this was torture.

Finally, with no reaction from Raymond, Hillary had no choice. She opened her eyes. Pretending she didn t remember anything, she held her head and slowly sat up, looking weak.

“I… what happened to me… Raymond… why are you here…?”

Raymond was focused on a stack of papers in his hand. When he heard Hillary speak, he set them down.

“I won’t go after what happened before,” he said calmly. “But from now on, you are not allowed to show up in Grandridge again.

“I’ve booked you a one-way ticket to Montara. You’ll live there from now on. Between you and me-it ends here.”

His voice turned colder. “If you dare touch Agnes again, I won’t let you off. Whatever happened to Lucy will happen to you too, Hillary.”

Hillary’s face went pale. For a moment, she thought she had heard wrong. These cold, heartless words… coming from Raymond?

She clutched her chest. Her face flushed red, and her breathing turned uneven. “What did you say? Raymond! What did you just say?!”

“You heard me,” he replied. “Do I need to say it again?”

Suddenly, Hillary collapsed to the floor. Her whole body shook violently. She curled up, her face twisted in pain.

One hand pressed hard against her chest. The other reached out toward Raymond.

“Raymond… my chest hurts… Please, don’t upset me anymore… I… my heart… it hurts so bad… I’m going to

die…

“Raymond, help me… I… I can’t breathe… it’s happening again… please… save me…”
