Chapter 180 The Blade and the Trap
Bianca declared, “The Newton’s might speak up for you, but I won’t let this go!”
At that moment, the ambulance pulled up outside.
Monica held her neck as she walked past Agnes. Her voice was soft.
Finished
“Agnes, I know this isn’t your fault. I’m okay. Don’t worry. I’ll talk to my mom when I get home. Sorry for the trouble today.”
Agnes said, “It happened in my boutique. I’m really sorry. I’ll go to the hospital with you.”
Bianca shoved Agnes aside and snapped, “Stay away from my daughter! Who knows what you’re really up to? You’ll be hearing from my lawyer!”
Just then, a group of people rushed in through the door.
Cameras clicked nonstop. Flash after flash.
“Agnes, they just came out of nowhere. We couldn’t stop them,” a staff member said, panicking.
“Stop taking pictures!” Monica called out.
The reporters immediately lowered their cameras.
Monica looked a little embarrassed. She turned to Agnes.
“I’m sorry, Agnes..I called them. I wanted some candid shots for publicity. I’m about to take over as Vice President at Hale Enterprise, so I need some exposure first. You know how it is now. Everything runs on attention. You need promotion, hype… I should’ve told you in advance. I…”
Bianca cut her off. “Why are you apologizing to her? That has nothing to do with her. You need her permission to invite reporters? You bring your own spotlight. If anything, her store should be grateful you showed up.”
“Mom, please stop,” Monica said quickly. “Let’s go. It was all a misunderstanding. Sorry everyone.”
Agnes didn’t say a word the whole time. Something about this felt off.
After they left, she pulled up all the security footage and checked it carefully.
From the moment they walked in to when they entered the fitting room, everything looked normal.
She was absolutely sure–one hundred percent–that the gown had been checked. The staff had checked it, and she had checked it herself more than once.
So where did the blade come from?
There were no cameras in the fitting room. Agnes couldn’t figure it out.
The next day, she received a lawyer’s letter from Bianca.

At the same time, a post shot to the top of the trending news.
“Famous Designer’s Boutique Hides Blade in Clothing, Customer Safety at Risk”
The post didn’t name the store, but every photo and every word pointed straight to Tidewhisper Lily. The top comment read.
[It’s definitely Tidewhisper Lily. I’ve been there. The layout is exactly the same!]
The comments exploded in less than an hour.
[Maybe it was just forgotten? Who would put a blade in clothes on purpose???]
[Wow, Tidewhisper Lily has gotten big now. Something this serious happens, and they don’t even respond?]
[Yeah! Apologize! Make a statement!]
[Wait, isn’t the one who got hurt the heiress of Hale Enterprise? How much are they going to have to compensate her? Selling the store won’t even be enough.]
[They’ve made plenty of money already. This probably doesn’t matter to them.]
[Hey, did you hear? Tidewhisper Lily is backed by the Newton Group.]
[No way? I remember at the WOW Fashion Design Competition, Mr. Newton showed up with that Ms. Young from Y&N.]
[Speaking of that, why can’t I find Y&N anymore? Did it shut down?]
[How many stores is the Newton Group investing in anyway?]
[They’ve had a lot of scandals lately. I heard the one behind Tidewhisper Lily is the real mastermind.]
[What?! Tell me more!!!]
୮
[The one behind Tidewhisper Lily pushed out the one from Y&N and took control of all the Newton Group’s assets!]
[That makes no sense at all. What are you even saying?]
[Anyway, the one behind Tidewhisper Lily came out on top! Both the Hales and the Newtons are big families. Looks like she’s going head–to–head with the Hales now.]
