Chapter 181 A Cut of Her Own Making
Finished
Monica continued, already talked to her. She was just worried about me, so she acted a little… poorly in the moment.
“Raymond, I don’t blame Agnes. She’s so pretty and kind. Why would she ever hurt me? Even at Sabrina’s birthday party, she was not very nice to me. Maybe she was just in a bad mood. I don’t mind. I really like Agnes.”
Raymond hung up before Monica could finish and went straight to Agnes’s shop.
On the other end, Monica kept talking about how generous she was, not even realizing the call had already
ended.
“Raymond, don’t you think so? Hello? Hello? Are you there? Hey! What the–he hung up on me?!”
When Raymond arrived at the shop, he saw Agnes sitting at a table, staring into space.
“Agnes…”
She looked up. “Why are you here?”
“Why didn’t you tell me Monica came to your shop?”
“Why would I tell you?”
“I came to help you deal with it.”
“No need. I’m waiting for a call. I’ll handle it myself.”
“You sure you’re capable of that?”
Agnes didn’t answer. Instead, she smiled. “That Monica… does she like you?”
Raymond froze for a second. “Did you misunderstand something?”
She smiled lightly. “No. Just asking.”
୮
Raymond turned serious. “I don’t know what you heard, but in my life, I’ve only ever loved one person. You. Before, now, and always-”
“Stop.” Agnes cut him off. “Did you forget? We’re divorced. Don’t say things like that anymore.”
“Agnes…”
“If there’s nothing else, you should go. I’ll give Monica an answer.”
Raymond looked at her–sharp, confident, and distant. His chest tightened.
She used to rely on him for everything. Now, even wanting to help her felt like too much to ask.
He let out a bitter laugh at himself. He deserved it. After all, he had been such a jerk before.
Chapter 1844 Gut of Her Own Making

After he left, Agnes got a call and prepared to go out.
But the moment she stepped outside, she saw a few people in hoodies in front of the office building.
They were splashing paint all over the “Tidewhisper Lily” sign.
One of them even spray–painted the words “Scam Shop” on the wall.
“What are you doing?!”
Her shout scared them off. They ran, leaving a mess behind.
Agnes didn’t have time to deal with them. She told her staff to take photos for evidence and call the police.
She had somewhere to be.
When she met the person, they handed her a file.
Agnes flipped through it, then shook her head with a tired sigh.
Instead of going back to her boutique, she went straight to Hale Enterprise.
The receptionist led her to an office on the top floor. The sign on the door read: Vice President.
The receptionist knocked gently.
“Come in,” a bright female voice called.
Agnes walked in. Monica stood up at once, greeting her warmly.
“Agnes, what brings you here?”
Agnes smiled politely. “I came to see you.”
Monica assumed Agnes was here to apologize about the fitting room incident and maybe negotiate.
Still, she put on an innocent face.

“Agnes, you’re so nice, coming all the way here to see me. Is this about the blade from yesterday? Honestly, I’m really fine. Just a small cut.
“My mom overreacted. I’m her only daughter, so she worries too much. Don’t take it personally. I know it wasn’t your fault. No one wants something like that to happen.”
“I understand,” Agnes said calmly. “I did come because of yesterday. I said I would give you an explanation
