Chapter 25 Talking Too Much

Hillary listened to the crowd with great interest. She had been worrying about how to make Agnes lose face. Now the chance had come.

Many wealthy daughters and wives from high society were here today. If this gossip spread. Agnes would be despised by everyone in Grandridge.

“I’m the one who will marry Neal in the future! Don’t even think about marrying him!”

Just as Ursa was yelling proudly, a calm and dignified woman’s voice suddenly came from the entrance.

“Oh? Since when did our family gain a daughter–in–law I didn’t know about?”

Everyone turned toward the door. Emily walked in gracefully, her driver following behind her.

Agnes slowly curled her lips into a small smile. The real show was about to begin.

Earlier, Emily noticed Agnes had been gone for a while. Then she received a phone call from her and overheard the argument on the line.

When she realized the matter involved the Ruells, she quickly came back.

The moment Ursa saw Emily, she almost fainted from shock. Wait…

Isn’t she the woman who was arguing with me over the facial machine earlier?

Earlier that day, Ursa had received a call from Jillian saying that the Newtons and the Ruells had arranged a dinner that evening to discuss the marriage alliance.

So, Ursa rushed to the spa to make sure she would look her best when meeting the Ruells later.

She had never met Emily before. Emily rarely returned to Grandridge. She usually lived in another city with her daughter.

This time, Emily had come back mainly because of the possible marriage alliance between the Ruells and

the Newtons.

Ursa was now both embarrassed and panicked.

It wasn’t the insults she threw at Agnes that worried her. What scared her was that she had just confidently declared that she would marry Neal.

Hillary was also stunned. The woman who comes with Agnes is actually Mrs. Emily.

Did that mean the Ruells already knew about Agnes and Neal? And had they accepted it?

Hillary had planned to spread the rumors about Agnes and Neal everywhere. But Emily’s sudden appearance completely caught her off guard.

“Oh. Mrs. Emily is here!” one young wife said with a smile. “You came to support your future daughter–in- law after she was bullied?”

Another woman laughed. “Ms. Ursa is really lucky. Even her future mother–in–law came to help her deal with the homewrecker.”

Ursa felt extremely awkward when she heard those words.

The Newton and Ruell families had only just started discussing the alliance. Nothing had been decided yet. But these women were already talking too much.

Her smile became stiff, but she still forced herself to speak.

“Mrs… Mrs. Emily, I… I’m Ursa. Earlier, I didn’t know it was you in that room. I’m usually not like this. I…. I was just in a hurry because I’m meeting you tonight, so I wanted to finish my skincare first. I’m really

Ursa began stuttering and didn’t even dare look up at Emily.

Emily looked at her calmly. “Miss, do we know each other? You just said you would marry into the Ruells in the future.

Emily’s words stunned everyone present–except Agnes.

Agnes didn’t want to say anything right now. She simply wanted to watch Ursa get humiliated. Originally, Agnes didn’t plan to deal with Ursa today.

But Ursa had gone too far. Since Ursa insisted on causing trouble, Agnes wasn’t going to let her go so easily,

“Ms. Ursa,” someone asked, “didn’t you just say you were Mr. Ruell’s fiancée?”

“Yeah, we all heard it. But Mrs. Emily says she doesn’t even know you.”

Ursa’s Face turned bright red. She didn’t know what to say.

Emily continued calmly. “My son Neal is currently single. He doesn’t even have a girlfriend. So where did

this fiancée come from?
