Chapter 26 Hard to Get
“But someone secretly took photos and twisted the story.” Emily continued. “They spread rumors and damaged our family’s reputation. We will definitely pursue this matter and take it to court!”
Now it wasn’t just Ursa who was shaking Hillary was trembling too. After all, she was the one who took the photos.
She had even shown them to everyone just now. Since Emily said this, it meant she planned to sue both Ursa and her.
The crowd immediately burst into whispers. Today’s gossip was truly sensational. It involved the two most famous wealthy families in Grandridge.
“What? Ursa isn’t Neal’s fiancée?” someone exclaimed. “Wow. She acted so arrogant just now. That’s so embarrassing!”
“Mrs. Emily slapped her in the face herself. She even said she doesn’t know Ms. Ursa and plans to sue them for defamation. That’s hilarious.”
“Ursa always brags about how close she is with Neal. Haha! Turns out she was just imagining things.”
“I think Ms. Ursa is really awful. And that friend next to her isn’t any better. Do you remember Ursa’s birthday party? Those two worked together to cause trouble. In the end, a kid exposed them.”
“Wow, her mind is really that cruel? No matter what, that woman is still her brother’s wife. She’s showing no respect to her brother and keeps embarrassing her in public.”
“The woman beside her is her brother’s first love.”
“First love? Well, birds of a feather flock together.”
Normally, with Ursa’s temper, she would have already jumped up and cursed everyone out.
But today, Emily was here. Ursa didn’t dare do that, even though she felt like she was about to explode.
Hillary was also furious when she heard people talking about her like that. But she really had no official relationship with Raymond. She had no right to argue. So, she could only swallow her anger.
“I’m sorry, Mrs. Emily. This is my fault. I apologize to you. I was too impulsive. I thought Neal and I would definitely end up together…”
Her last words were so quiet that only she could hear them. Today she had completely embarrassed herself.
But she refused to give up. No matter what, she would never give up on Neal. In her mind, Agnes was the reason for everything.
At the birthday party, and now again today. It was all because of Agnes.
“There’s no need to say more,” Emily said calmly. “You and your friend can wait for the lawyer’s letter”

After saying that. Emily took Agnes’s hand and walked out of the spa.
“Mrs. Emily! Mrs. Emily
Ursa shouted desperately behind them. But Emily didn’t even turn her head.
“Hahaha, that’s hilarious,” a young rich gil laughed behind her. “She still wants to fix things. I guess the Ruells won’t want her
anymore.”
“Shut up! All of you get out!”
Ursa suddenly exploded with anger. She grabbed several decorative items in the spa lobby and smashed them to the floor. Everyone quickly scattered in fear.
Agnes, just wait!
Ursa planned to go home and complain about Agnes. But before she even arrived home, her mother Jillian called.
“Ursa, the Ruells suddenly called. They said tonight’s dinner is canceled because something came up. I’m not sure what happened.”
“Mom! This is all Agnes’s fault!”
“What? What happened?”
“I’ll explain when I get home. But this time, you must kick Agnes out of the Newtons!”
In another car, Emily was still holding Agnes’s hand.
Only now did she realize that Agnes was Raymond’s wife.
“Agnes, why didn’t you tell me about your relationship with the Newtons?”
Agnes smiled gently. “Mrs. Emily, I don’t really like talking about my personal matters. I came to work at your home, and I didn’t want to cause trouble for you. Besides, I’ll soon have nothing to do with the Newtons anymore.”
Emily had lived a long life. She easily understood the meaning behind Agnes’s words. So, she didn’t ask any more questions.
If Agnes belonged to the Newtons, why was she out looking for work?
After seeing Ursa’s behavior earlier, and hearing what others said, Emily could guess that Agnes’s life in the Newtons was probably very difficult.
She suddenly felt sorry for Agnes. After spending time with her recently–and seeing how Agnes treated Andrew–Emily felt that Agnies was nothing like the cruel woman Ursa described.
Instead, she seemed humble, gentle, and smart.
If Agnes weren’t already married, Emily would have gladly introduced her to her own son.
