Chapter 255 All Gone
“Turns out, you did all this for that woman… the one who divorced you and hurt you!
“Raymond, I’m… so disappointed in you!”
After saying that, Monica covered her face and ran out of the office in tears.
Eden walked over cautiously. “Mr. Newton, should I go after Ms. Hale?”
“No need. The thing I asked you to handle, how’s it going?”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Newton. Everything’s been taken care of.”
After leaving the Newton Group building, Monica ran all the way to Duncan, crying.
She had gone there to stop Raymond from making a mistake, but he didn’t appreciate it at all.
He had taken all her good intentions and ground them into the dirt.
She told Duncan everything through tears, and he took the chance to pull her into his arms.
“I told you before, Monica. That man isn’t worth you doing this.
“Take a good look at who’s been by your side all along, who’s willing to give you everything.”
Monica looked up at him, met his affectionate gaze, and buried her face deeper into his chest.
But in her heart, that man was still there.
Duncan gently stroked her hair, a faint smile curling at his lips as he murmured, “Time to close the net.”
At Ruell Villa…
Ever since Emily went to see Agnes, the Ruells had people watching Neal’s every move.
All the assets under Neal’s name had been frozen by Kenneth.
Even the money he tried to transfer to Agnes had been intercepted halfway by Kenneth using unknown means.
Kenneth even warned him that if he went to see that woman again, he wouldn’t hesitate to pit the Ruells Jagainst her.
Neal was furious. He tried to leave the Ruells and go explain things to Agnes.
But Kenneth’s men caught him and put him under house arrest.
Enraged, Neal confronted Kenneth. “Dad, are you trying to drive me insane?”
Kenneth sat on the couch, leisurely smoking a cigar. He exhaled a slow stream of smoke, completely unbothered.
“Aren’t you the one trying to bring the Ruells down?”
Fire burned in Neal’s eyes. “Just because I want to be with Agnes, I’m bringing the Ruells down?
“Even if I’m with her, I’m still your son. I’ll still build the company bigger and stronger.
“What’s different?”
Kenneth continued smoking, not even lifting his gaze.
“A daughter-in-law of the Ruells is not supposed to be someone like that.”
His low voice carried weight and warning.
