Love After Leaving: No Regret (Agnes and Raymond) novel Chapter 313

Neal asked, "You're being discharged today? Agnes, let me drive you home."

Carmen replied, "No need. I can take her. Since you've seen her, Mr. Ruell, you can leave now."

"Ms. Fletcher, you seem to have some hostility toward me. I wonder if I've offended you before."

Carmen shook her head. "You're overthinking it. We just don't need your help. You've seen her, so why are you still standing here?"

Neal's tone turned colder. "Agnes is my friend, and I came to visit her. I don't think you need to interfere."

Carmen's voice carried a trace of disdain. "Agnes is my friend too. She just recovered, and I don't want her to be disturbed."

Neal scoffed, "Oh? Then do you not count as a disturbance standing here?"

Carmen fought back. "I'm not the same as you. We..."

Agnes didn't understand why the two of them suddenly sounded like they were ready to explode, so she cut in.

"Alright, alright. You're both my friends. Let's just calm down."

She turned to Neal and said, "Neal, thank you so much for coming to see me.

"I'm really fine. Having Carmen here to take care of me is enough.

"I know you're busy with work. Next time, when you're free, we can have a meal together, okay?"

Neal understood the gentle refusal in her words, and he didn't want to make things difficult for her.

He gently set down the flowers and said softly, "Then get some good rest. Call me if anything comes up."

Before leaving, he cast a meaningful glance at Carmen.

Out in the hallway, Frank was supporting Raymond as they stood there.

They had heard everything that happened inside the room.

Frank said, "You're already at the door. Are you not going in to see her? Your rival's in there too."

Raymond stayed silent, only signaling for Frank to help him leave.

Frank tutted. "Hey, what's wrong with you? I told you to rest, but you insisted on coming to see your girl.

"Now you're here, and you won't even go in. What are you doing, Raymond?"

Raymond said, "She's being discharged today, and I just wanted to see her. I've seen her now, so let's go."

Frank shook his head and said helplessly, "A man who says one thing and feels another... You're stubborn as hell. You deserve this suffering."

After Neal left, Agnes pulled Carmen's hand and asked, "Carmen, do you know Neal? Why does it feel like you have something against him?"

Carmen pouted. "No. I just don't like him hanging around you."

Agnes leaned in curiously. "Why?"
