Raymond was still tightly holding her hand, smiling.
"I feel uncomfortable everywhere. What should I do?"
Agnes said helplessly, "You're spouting nonsense again! Fine, I'll go to the kitchen and cook something for you.
"The doctor said you just had surgery, so you need to eat light food these days."
As she spoke, she tried to pull her hand away and head downstairs.
But Raymond didn't let go, still holding her tightly. "Thank you..."
Agnes smiled faintly and patted the back of his hand gently. "That's something I should be saying to you.
"I told you before—I won't let you keep going on like this forever.
"Just wait here. I'll go make you something to eat."
"Okay..."
Only then did Raymond reluctantly release her hand.
Agnes went to the kitchen and started working, completely unaware someone had appeared behind her.
At some point, Clara was quietly standing at the kitchen door.
Her expression was unpleasant. She had thought Agnes would leave after sending Raymond back.
But she didn't expect Agnes to actually come into the kitchen and start cooking.
What could she possibly make? Does she even know Mr. Newton's tastes?
She looks like nothing but a brainless pretty face!
When Agnes finally noticed someone at the door, she turned around.
Clara was standing there, smiling at her.
Agnes curled her lips slightly and turned back to continue cooking, not taking Clara seriously at all.
"Ms. Blue, are you standing there to supervise me cooking?
"Nursing must be really tough. You're worrying about everything all the time."
Clara clearly heard the sarcasm, but she remained calm. "Yes, Ms. Sinclair. That's my responsibility. I must be careful and responsible.
"Mr. Newton just had eye surgery and needs special care.
"All of his meals and daily routines must be strictly monitored to ensure his recovery."
Agnes gently stirred the soup ladle in her hand and commented, "How fortunate Raymond is to have such a thoughtful nurse. I'm really jealous."
Clara clenched her fingers tightly, afraid she would lose control and tear off Agnes's fake smile.
She forced down the anger rising inside her, took a deep breath, and spoke with a professional smile. "Thanks for the compliment, Ms. Sinclair.
"But what I actually mean is that Mr. Newton already has a top-tier nutritionist and Michelin chefs specifically hired for him.
