Ignoring the filth inside the trash can, shestuffed some items into a bag, then shoved others directly into

her mouth.

A rope was tied around her body, and the other end was attached to a small, battered flatbed cart.

A man was slumped on the flatbed cart, looking like he was disabled. His limbs couldn’t move, and he was filthy from head to toe.

He made muffled groaning sounds.

Agnes froze for a moment. That old woman was Linda!

But Agnes heard from the servants that Linda had gone back to her hometown.

Why was Linda still in Grandridge? And how had she ended up homeless in such a miserable state?

Agnes felt a twinge of sympathy. But when she remembered that Linda had caused her child’s death, her heart hardened again.

Serves you right! This is your karma!

She thought about it. Raymond had never mentioned anything to her, so she had always assumed he didn’t care and had let Linda off.

Butperhaps he hadn’t been indifferent after all.

After spacing out for a moment, Agnes still turned and left.

When she returned home, she received a call from Rebecca.

Agnes, a lot of people have been asking me about your Brocade Bloom. I made a list of names. Should I send it to you?

Agnes asked, Is there anyone with the last name Zeller?

Rebecca replied, Let me checkUmmYep! There’s someone named Harvey. Oh my gosh, his offer is the highest among everyone!

Agnes asked, Is he an overseas Hanese?

Agnes, do you know this guy?

No, but help me contact him and see if we can arrange a meeting.

Rebecca said cheerfully, Got it! Same as beforeI’ll handle the negotiation.

Not long after, Agnes received a message from Jasper saying that Harvey had returned to Grandridge.

That meant Harvey must be the person offering the highest price for her work.

Chapter 48 Meeting

Soon after, Rebecca called again to say the buyer had agreed to meet in person.

So Agnes and Rebecca went to the agreed location, but Agnes didn’t get out of the car.

She stayed cautious in case the visitor had ill intentions. They had chosen an outdoor coffee shop where there were many people.

Agnes had placed a small camera on Rebecca, while she herself stayed in the car listening.

By chance, Agnes spotted someone she recognized at the entrance of the coffee shopHillary.

A man was standing beside her. It wasn’t Raymond, but an older man.

She watched as Hillary chatted and laughed with him, and finally hugged him goodbye. They looked very

close.

Thoughts began to race through Agnes’s mind. What kind of relationship did those two have?

What shocked her even more was that after Hillary left, the middleaged man didn’t leave.

Instead, he remained seated outside the coffee shop until Rebecca appeared. The two shook hands and introduced themselves.

Agnes’s mind buzzed. Was that man Harvey? Hillary seemed very familiar with him.

But then again, Hillary had lived in Montara for many years. They might have known each other for a long

time.

The world was truly strange. It felt as if everyone had somehow gathered in the same place.

Harvey appeared to be about the same age as Daisy. From his conversation with Rebecca, Agnes didn’t detect anything unusual.

He simply sounded like a businessman who admired her work and wanted to purchase it.

However, Harvey asked very detailed questions, like where she had learned embroidery, how old she was, and who else was in her family.

Maybe it was a casual conversation. Maybe there was some other purpose. Either way, Harvey stayed firmly in Agnes’s mind.

After it was over, Agnes returned to her southernstyle courtyard. A black luxury car was parked outside the entrance. It looked somewhat familiar.

As she approached, her pupils suddenly shrank. She hurried inside, but the person in the car quickly go out and blocked her path.

Did you think I wouldn’t be able to find you?

Agnes knew she couldn’t avoid him. She lifted her head. So you figured things out? Came to talk about divorce?

Raymond glanced at the southernstyle courtyard behind her and asked, Did you rent this place? Where
