Chapter 80 A Forced Apology

The woman under the covers froze. Then she started to shake. “You… you’ve got the wrong person,” she stammered. “I don’t know anyone named Jillian.”

The man stood there, calm and almost amused. He lit a cigarette, then walked over to the man on the bed.

He took a slow drag and blew the smoke right into the man’s face. A moment ago, the man had been full of energy. Now he was frozen with fear. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead, and he didn’t dare move.

“Jillian,” Raymond said with a faint smile, “this must be your lover. You two must be really close. All these years, and you never broke it off.”

He took another drag, then pressed the burning tip of the cigarette against the man’s face.

“ARGHHHH!” The man screamed in pain, clutching his face, but even then, he didn’t dare fight back.

The woman threw off the covers. When she saw the burn on his face, she trembled even harder.

“Raymond! Y–you were spying on me?!”

“Did I need to?” Raymond said calmly. “I’ve known about this for a long time. You meet him every week. You were together before you met my father, and you still are. Turns out you’re very loyal, huh?”

Jillian’s face turned pale. She had always been careful. Careful enough, she thought. And yet, Raymond still found out.

The man on the bed really was her old lover. They had known each other for years. He had no money, no status–but he remained devoted to her.

Before she got married, he followed her around. After she got married, he still did. She would give him money from time to time. In return, he gave her all his attention.

She had married Joseph for money and power. She was ambitious and never wanted to stay hidden in the shadows.

She pushed Judy out step by step, but the man still refused to marry her officially.

After Judy passed away and after Jillian gave him a son and a daughter, the Newtons finally accepted her.

Even after the marriage, she couldn’t stay faithful. She kept seeing her old lover, thinking she had covered her tracks perfectly.

But she hadn’t. Now that everything was exposed, Jillian lifted her chin. “Fine. What do you want?”

Raymond smiled and said, “Go apologize to Agnes. A real apology. You know what I mean,” he said softly. “Treat yourself the way you treated her. Keep doing it until she forgives you.”

Jillian clenched her fists, her mind racing.

So it was Agnes. That slut had gone and complained. When did she become so vicious? I had

underestimated her.

Rayinond’s voice cut through her thoughts.

“I warned you last time

you mess with her again, I won’t let it go. Your son only ended up with a broken leg before. Looks like that didn’t hurt you enough. My fault. I was too soft. Next time, maybe I should just ruin him completely and be done with it.”

Jillian’s face turned pale. “You… you’re crazy! How can you be so cruel to your brother? Aren’t you afraid of

karma?”

Raymond gave a faint smile, his eyes cold. “If karma were real, you’d be the first to pay for it.”

He tilted his head slightly. “Do you know why I never told my father about you?” A low chuckle escaped him.

“That’s his karma. But honestly, I’d love to see his face if he finds out he’s been cheated on.

“Then again, a man who cheats on others and neglects his own family probably wouldn’t care much.”

He looked at her, eyes sharp. “This is lame. Want to see his reaction?”

Jillian’s arrogance vanished in an instant. She shook her head again and again, her voice trembling.

“No, please don’t. Your father isn’t in good health. Don’t upset him. I’ll apologize. I’ll go apologize to Agnes. Just delete the photos and the videos.”

Raymond laughed, almost unhinged. “Let’s keep those for now. We’ll see how you behave.”

Then he walked over Jillian’s lover. Without warning/he kicked him hard between the legs. The man let out a scream and passed out instantly.

Jillian stood there, frozen, her face drained of all color, cold sweat running down her back.

After Raymond left, Jillian quickly called Agnes and asked to meet. She said it was something very important.

Agnes didn’t want to see her, but since she still hadn’t completely cut ties with the Newtons, she forced herself to go.
