Chapter 79 Caught Red–Handed

“Enough! Just leave!” Neal Snapped.

Ursa’s eyes were red. She held onto her mother and quickly left the restaurafrt.

Agnes had no idea what Neal said to Ursa. Her thoughts kept drifting back to Raymond staying at the hospital with Hillary.

Wasn’t a jerk like him always doing that? She didn’t even know if she was upset because he stood her up or because of something else.

Neal drove her back home.

After everything that happened tonight, he didn’t want to hold back anymore. He got straight to the point.

“Agnes, have things always been bad for you? Do they always treat you like that?”

Agnes hadn’t planned to talk about this with anyone. But Neal had seen everything tonight. There was nothing left to hide.

“I’m sorry, Neal. You had to see that.”

Neal looked at her seriously. “If you’re not happy, then walk away. No matter what happens, I’ll help you.”

Agnes looked at him, grateful. She smiled softly. “Thank you, Neal. I’m really okay.”

She didn’t say anything more, and Neal didn’t push.

But when he heard Agnes tell Ursa earlier that she had already asked Raymond for a divorce, he had almost lost control of his excitement.

This time, he wouldn’t miss his chance.

The car pulled up in front of the courtyard house. Another luxury car was already parked outside

Agnes saw it too. She frowned. Why is he here again?

Before Neal could even stop the car, a tall man stormed over. He yanked the door open and dragged Agnes

out.

“Ah–let go! Raymond! What are you doing?! That hurts!”

Neal quickly got out. He rushed around the car and shoved Raymond hard.

“Raymond, didn’t you hear her? You’re hurting her!”

Raymond’s face darkened. “Neal, are you asking for trouble? I warned you before. Don’t push your luck. What are you two doing together?”

He shoved Neal back. The tension exploded instantly. The two men looked ready to fight.

“Stop it! Both of you!” Agnes shouted.

Raymond finally looked her properly. Her eyes were red. She had clearly been crying. On one side of her face, a bright handprint stood out.

He ignored Neal and grabbed her arm again, lowering his head to check her face.

His anger flared. He tried to hold it in. “You got hit? Who did this?”

Agnes stayed silent. Raymond turned sharply. His eyes burned with anger as he glared at Neal. “Did you do this to her?”

Agnes felt a surge of irritation. She hated how Raymond always jumped to conclusions, lashing out without thinking, like a madman snapping at anything in sight.

She pulled free from his grip and shot back, “Why are you here again? Didn’t we already make things clear?”

Her voice turned colder. “Hillary tried to take her life. Shouldn’t you be at the hospital? Why are you here bothering me?

“Don’t come looking for me anymore. I don’t want to see you. Just sign the papers as soon as possible.”

With that, Agnes turned and walked straight into the house. Tonight had already pushed her past her limit.

Raymond frowned and reached out to grab her, but she shook him off without hesitation.

He stood there, watching her the whole time, until the door closed behind her.

Then, his face hardened. He walked toward Neal, his voice cold as ice. “What happened tonight?”

Neal glanced at him, his eyes full of disdain. “Go ask your sister and your stepmother.”

With that, he brushed past Raymond, got into his car, and drove off.

Raymond stayed where he was, his expression dark, lost in thought.

The next day. A luxury hotel in Grandridge.

A well–dressed woman stepped out near the elevator. She was impeccably dressed, from her sunglasses down to her designer handbag.

As soon as she entered the elevator, the man in a black suit who had been following her spoke quietly into his earpiece. “She’s going up.”

Outside, in a luxury car, another man in a black suit nodded to the man seated in the back.

“Go in after 15 minutes,” the man said, his voice low and rough.
