Ursa lifted her chin and spoke in a cold, demanding tone. “You-call my brother now. Tell need to see him right now.”

Imogen kept her voice calm. “I’m really sorry, Ms. Newton. I already told you what Mr. Nev said. He won’t see you.”

Ursa’s face twisted with anger. She pointed straight at Imogen. “He won’t see me? So you ca even make a call for me? I’ll talk to him myself!”

Imogen still smiled politely. “You can call him yourself, Ms. Newton.”

“You think I haven’t tried?” Ursa snapped. “He won’t answer my calls! I don’t care-call him

now!”

“Please don’t make this hard for me,” Imogen said softly. “I’m just doing my job. I can’t go against Mr. Newton’s orders.”

Ursa saw that Imogen wouldn’t give in, and she lost her patience.

She gritted her teeth, stepped forward, and dragged the phone across the desk to her side.

Imogen frowned and quickly reached out to take it back. But the moment her hand moved, Ursa swung her handbag and hit her hard several times.

“Ah!” Imogen pulled her hand back right away. Tears rushed to her eyes. “Ms. Newton, you—”

“You what?” Ursa snapped. “If you won’t call, I’ll do it myself. And you still tried to stop me? Yo brought that on yourself!”

She glared at her, full of anger. “I’ll have my brother fire you later. You have no sense at all. I don’t know how Newton Group hired someone like you.”

Ursa rolled her eyes and reached for the phone, ready to call Raymond’s office.

Before the call could go through, a man’s voice came from behind her. “Ms. Newton.”

Ursa turned around. Eden was standing not far away, walking straight toward her.

She put the phone down and shot Imogen a smug look. “See? Raymond sent his assistant to take me upstairs. Who do you think you are, trying to stop me? This company belonged to my family!”

She looked Imogen up and down with disdain.

Imogen lowered her head. She gently rubbed her red, swollen hands as tears kept falling.

She had only graduated not long ago. This was her first job.

Ursa turned around and instantly put on a bright smile. “Eden, did my brother send you to me up?” she said. “I knew it. He wouldn’t ignore me. Let’s go.”

Eden didn’t move. He stood there calmly, still polite. “Yes, Mr. Newton asked me to come d and find you,” he said.

“He had already told the staff at the front desk to send you to the HR office when you arrive But since you didn’t seem to understand, he asked me to explain it again.

“If you want to keep using your cards, there is only one way: come work at the company.”

Ursa’s smile froze. “What if I say no?”

Eden’s tone stayed calm. “Then you will no longer be allowed to enter the offices. All your ca will remain frozen. And you won’t be allowed to return to the estate.”

Ursa’s face changed instantly. “Is Raymond out of his mind? He’s banning me from going home? Who does he think he is? Our parents are still alive! I want to see him now. He needs t explain this to me in person.”

Eden looked at her and replied evenly. “This decision was made together with your parents. They all agreed. You should come with me and report to work.”

Ursa’s eyes widened in shock. No way! How could Mom and Dad agree to this?

She quickly called her mother. Jillian didn’t dare go against Raymond now.

He had told the family this was for Ursa’s own good, that she needed to learn how to work and

grow up.

The elders agreed. They all felt Ursa had been too idle for too long.

Jillian told her to be patient. She also whispered that Agnes had complained behind their backs, and Raymond was now settling scores,

Ursa was thunderstruck. Hearing her mother tell her to endure it for now, she had no choice. In the end, she followed Eden to the HR office.

Even though she was full of anger, she comforted herself. It was her family’s company. She decided to show up and put on a performance.
