Chapter 91 A Slap and the Truth

“I know. Don’t be seared. I’m here.”

As she spoke, Agnes took off her jacket and wrapped it around Rebecca. She pulled her into a tight hug and continued comforting her.

Then she looked at the girl lying on the ground and snapped, “What is wrong with you people? Causing trouble at school like this? I already called the police. Just wait for them to come.”

Lucy struggled to get up from the ground. Her eyes were red, and tears kept streaming down from the pain. She pointed at Agnes and yelled, “Who the hell are you, you slut? You’re in cahoots with her, aren’t you? You hurt my eyes! Fuck you!!!”

She rushed at Agnes, reaching out to grab her hair. She didn’t even get close.

Agnes raised her hand and slapped her hard, sending her stumbling to the side.

Back when she slapped Raymond and Hillary, she had already realized that her hand packed a punch. Now it came in handy again.

The crowd burst into chatter.

“Whoa! Who is that girl? She’s amazing! She took on a whole group by herself-seriously? That’s insane!”

“Isn’t she Rebecca’s friend? And she’s helping a homewrecker? She can’t be any better.”

“Exactly. Birds of a feather.”

“Seriously, all this over some guy? Why are girls always making things harder for each other?”

“Okay, but she’s really pretty. Is she from our school?”

“Hahaha, I noticed too! I can’t stop staring at her, and I’m a girl!”

At that moment, Lucy was still shaking on the ground. After that slap from Agnes, her confidence dropped rapidly.

Her friends were still lying there, eyes shut tight, unable to get up. The pepper spray had hit them hard.

Lucy suddenly sat down and burst into tears. “Is anyone going to help me? This is so unfair! I was in a perfectly good relationship, and she stole my boyfriend! And now she even brought someone to hit me!”

Finally, someone nearby spoke up. “Hey, Rebecca! Why did you take someone else’s boyfriend?”

“I didn’t!” Rebecca cried. “I’ve never taken anyone’s boyfriend! I would never do something like that!”

Then she turned to Lucy and demanded, “You keep saying I stole your boyfriend, but I don’t even know who he is! You came up and started hitting people without asking anything. How is that any different from being a thug? Do you even care about the law?”

Lucy fired up again. “Bitch, stop pretending! My boyfriend is Ethan! We’ve been together for a long time.

Ever since you showed up, he started pulling away from me. Now he wants to break up! If you didn’t get in the middle, why else would that happen?!”

“That’s not true!” Rebecca shot back. “When I started dating Ethan, he was single. I had no idea he had another girlfriend! I could look through his phone at any time. We’ve been together this long, and there was never any sign of you!”

Lucy rebuked, “You’re the one talking nonsense! You saw he’s rich, so you used every trick to seduce him! You’re poor, so you try to change your fate and latch onto a rich guy! Don’t you have a mirror at home? Fine, at least you have piss, don’t you?! Take a look at yourself. Do you really think you’re worthy?!”

Rebecca trembled with anger, pointing at her. “You slut!”

Agnes gently held her arm, stopping her. Then she looked at Lucy and said calmly, “You say you’re Ethan’s girlfriend. Who can prove that?”

Lucy pointed at the girls beside her. “All my friends know! Everyone around us knows!”

Agnes let out a small laugh. “Of course your friends will back you up. Why don’t you call Ethan right now and ask him? See if he admits you’re his girlfriend. Even an ex is fine. Go ahead and call him. Are you scared?”

Lucy froze for a few seconds. Then she stammered, “I… we already broke up because of her. He won’t pick up my calls.”

Agnes smiled slightly. “Won’t pick up? Or do you not dare to call?”

Lucy raised her voice. “What do I have to be afraid of?!”

Agnes’s smile disappeared. Her voice turned cold. “Because you were never his girlfriend.”

The crowd gasped. Wait-there was a twist?

Lucy’s face went pale. Did this woman know Ethan? She had never met Agnes.

She clenched her teeth. “You’re lying! We’ve been together for long time! I am his girlfriend!”

Agnes didn’t bother arguing. She took out her phone, opened a video, and turned the volume all the way

It was the video from earlier at school, showing Lucy confronting Ethan. Their argument played clearly. Ethan’s harsh words. Lucy begging him.

The whole place went quiet. It was so still you could hear a pin drop. Ethan’s harsh words from the video rang out, clear and cold. Lucy’s soft, pleading voice followed, weak and desperate. The sound echoed through the air.
