After Bertha left Paris, she did not return to Switzerland. Instead, she went to Germany to look for Emma.
At the same time, Simon saw Bertha’s designs in Centville. Since he knew Bertha’s handwriting by heart and knew all the details she loved to put in her designs, he knew that she was the designer. The sight of the buttercup after the name, “Daffodil,” further strengthened his belief.
He ordered his secretary to hire a hacker to locate the IP address of the person who had uploaded the designs online.
“Mr. Zimmer, the designs came from Germany.”
Once the secretary found the location, he was really excited. After all, ever since Bertha left, Simon had constantly been listless. He knew that Bertha did not like the smell of alcohol, so he destroyed all the wine cellars at home. He also worked day and night
to numb himself. He had passed out a few times from working nonstop overnight, and the secretary only realized he was
unconscious when he came to work the following day.
They had not managed to find Bertha the last time they were in Switzerland. Hopefully, Simon could return with Bertha this time.
After Simon received the news, he immediately booked the earliest flight to Germany. This time, he was not going to lose Bertha again.
Immediately after Bertha landed, Emma came up to her with a smile. Just like last time, she chatted nonstop with her.
“Bertha, I know that I shouldn’t have uploaded the designs, but your stuff is really good. You have no idea that when I wore your
shirt to my lecture the next day, even my foreign language professor praised it, and he’s usually so boring! Do you know what my
professor said about you?”
Bertha shook her head with a smile.
“He praised you! He said that the person who designed the shirt is really talented and that they must be a gentle, kind soul.”
A good shirt did have a lot of charm. Regardless of your social status, that shirt would keep you company for life as long as you
took good care of it. You could be connected to nature through it, and even become friends with someone else with it. The beauty
of fashion designing was that it allowed designers to bring out the full charm of clothes. Thus, even though Bertha had never met
Emma’s professor before, her professor still praised her and admired her.
“By the way, Bertha, my professor is also a Centvillean. When I showed him your drafts, he asked me to give you a message.”
Emma worked hard to recall it before she clapped her hands and said, ““The time is just right. The flower hasn’t wilted.“”
When Bertha heard this, her heart suddenly jolted. She understood what the professor said. He was telling her to live her life right. It made her interested in this professor whom she had never met before, so she asked Emma to arrange for a meeting with
In the end, she met Emma’s professor in a dim pubs. Even though it had been more than a decade since they last met, she still recognized him as the one who had led her down the path of fashion designing. He was her upperclassman, Samuel Quinn.
She had thought that it would be their first time meeting, but to think that they were just reuniting with each other!
She stared at Samuel in shock, but he seemed to expect this. He nudged his gold–rimmed glasses up his nose and extended his hand to her in a gentlemanly fashion. “It’s been a while, Bertha.”
She shook his hand excitedly. But right then, someone popped out from the corner.
A few days ago, Simon had landed in Germany and started looking for Bertha ever since. He found that the money he had given to Bertha had all been donated to a charity organization in Paris, and he immediately figured out that she had attended a fashion show in the city. It led to him researching recent flights, and he learned that Bertha had landed in Germany two days ahead of
him. Hence, he had been searching for her ever since, but he only ever managed to figure out her general location. Throughout the day, he had not been able to make any progress, and he felt disappointed. So, he started walking along the street with no direction in mind, only to see a familiar figure move past him. He hurried after her and went into a pub. Just then, he saw the woman he had been looking for all this while, but to his surprise, she was shaking another man’s hand.
The man was tall with short, brown hair. His blue eyes also shone with calmness and intelligence. His facial features were sharp. Under the light, he looked like a work of art. Even so, Simon could still detect a hint of Centvillean blood on him, which made him
realize that he was of mixed blood. He had to admit that the man was handsome.
