The first to lose her patience was Bertha. 

“Enough, Simon. I have no time to argue with you. Do you really think that you love me that much? If you truly did, you  wouldn’t have cheated on me. The essence of love is loyalty, but ours was full of lies. Everyone in our friend group knew about your 

relationship with Lama, but they kept it from me. What am I, then? 

“You said that I didn’t give you a chance? Can you swear you never noticed that anything was off whenever I acted strangely? You 

ignored my feelings all the time, so how can you call that love? You’re the one who slept with Luna in the hospital in the name of 

seeking treatment for me. You’re the one who slept with Luna in the car on my birthday. You could even talk about all the dirty 

things you did with Luna while peeling grapes for me. 

“If you had even considered my feelings for one second from the get–go, would you have done those things? Even now, you 

haven’t tried to offer me an explanation. 

“Simon, I don’t need anyone giving me their love out of pity.” 

Simon’s face gradually turned pale in the face of her words. Out of habit, he wanted to shake his head in denial and say that he loved her. But when he saw Bertha’s mocking gaze, all of his words died on his tongue.

not to linger, he immediately chased after her to beg her to change her mind. Bertha was the most soft–hearted person he knew, 

so he was sure that she would give him a chance.
