Love Times Four My Stepbrothers Are My Mates (Alayah) novel Chapter 105

**When Broken Stars Drift Across Empty Midnight Skies by Troy Mason Venn**
**Chapter 105 Files**

**Alayah’s p.o.v.**

This is beyond revolting; it’s the most stomach-churning experience I’ve ever had, and I’m grateful that it’s just audio. Listening to Bryson recount his harrowing search for answers sends my insides twisting and turning in ways I never thought possible.

“Alright, what’s our game plan here?” Anton queries, his brow furrowing in concern. But I find my gaze fixated on the file Uncle Josh handed me earlier. It’s clear to me that Bree isn’t the sole source of chaos. Without a second thought, I link with the Head Omega, instructing her to bring coffee to my office. As anticipated, she doesn’t put up a fight.

“Beau, get Bree in here. One way or another, we need her.” I command, watching as he grins at the sound of his nickname. Just the other day, he confessed to me how much he despises his full name, Beaumont. The only person who insists on calling him by that name is his mother, and it’s clear he responds out of a deep-seated fear—one that’s wholly justified. I’ve seen her in action on the training grounds, and let me tell you, she’s formidable.

“Next time I see your parents, I’m going to ask them why they chose to name you after long-forgotten places that turned to dust centuries ago,” I remark playfully as Beau rises from his chair, noticing the curious looks from everyone around. “Beaumont, Austin, Dallas, and Hondo—all names of cities and towns that once thrived in Texas. I believe we’re standing on that very soil.”

Mom is in stitches, laughing heartily alongside Grandma. History has always fascinated me, particularly the way I can connect territories to states and cities. Yet, I find myself puzzled about our exact location within the territory once known as Texas. I resolve that once I have a spare moment, I’ll dive into the research.

After a short wait of about ten minutes, there’s a knock on the door, and the Head Omega enters, balancing the coffee I requested. She’s still busy arranging everything on the coffee table when Beau strides in, shoving Bree ahead of him. “Look what I stumbled upon while leaving the Pack-house,” he announces with a smirk.

“I demand answers, and I will extract them. The method I choose to use depends entirely on the two of you.” I assert, my gaze shifting from Bree to her mother. “Why didn’t you and the other Omegas show up when you were summoned?” I pose the question, yet my eyes remain locked on Bree, curious to see if she’ll communicate with her mother.

“Bree informed us that, as the future Luna, she was excusing us from attendance. She emphasized that the new Alpha was notoriously difficult to please, advising us to avoid bothering him,” comes the response, and in a flash, Beau has Bree on her knees before me.

“Does Bree habitually deceive her mother?” I ask, observing the shocked expressions on the faces around me. I suspect that no one in Blood Stone Pack had any inkling that Bree is merely an Omega. Bree lets out a low growl as her mother opens her mouth, only to quickly shut it again. I want an answer to my question.

“I ASKED A QUESTION!” I bellow, my voice merging with Topaz’s, sending a ripple of tension through the room. Everyone flinches, except for my Mates, who stand resolute.

“For years, Bree has claimed that Brock would accept her as his Luna, but she recently told me that the Pack would be getting a new Alpha and that she would still ascend to the position of Luna for Blood Stone Pack,” her mother finally responds, but the answer falls short of my expectations. “She is my daughter, and I trust her to speak the truth.”

I understand the instinct of a parent to believe in their child’s honesty, yet surely she must have heard the whispers of truth at some point. After all, none of them have ever concealed their disdain for power-hungry females, and every Pack member would have shared stories about Bree’s antics.

“What is his real name, and from which Pack did he come?” I ask, but she only knows him by the name mentioned in the file, and he never divulged his Pack’s origins. I refuse to give up; I will uncover whether Bree’s account holds any weight or if he deceived her. I am determined to resolve this matter before I head to the Crimson Moon Pack.

“Beau, escort her to the dungeons and place her in a cell far removed from our other prisoner,” I order, and Hondo follows him out the door. Mary is waiting just outside my office as I had requested, and I beckon her to re-enter.

“Mary, as you’ve likely deduced, Bree has been lying to you. I am the Alpha of Blood Stone Pack, and these are my Mates. Bree would never have been this Pack’s Luna, even if Brock had somehow taken over from his father. I suspect Bree told you that the new Alpha despises it when Pack members can’t manage their own affairs, but she was mistaken.

As Alpha, it’s my duty to assist and protect my Pack. I want anyone facing difficulties to come to me, and that won’t happen if they fear me. I know you trusted your daughter, but I need you to set aside whatever she told you about me and help me restore Blood Stone to its former glory,” I assert, my tone unwavering.

For a fleeting moment, she contemplates my words. “Alpha, I will serve you and this Pack to the best of my abilities. I will ensure that everyone understands they can come to you with any issues they face,” Mary responds, and I feel a wave of relief wash over me, knowing I have a reliable Head Omega to support me.

Once Mary departs my office, I glance at the remaining files piled before me, realizing we’ll never be able to finish everything today. My desire to dismantle the Crimson Moon Pack is strong, but I must first address this internal crisis.

I decide that I need a bite to eat before tackling the problem lurking in the dungeons. After that, we’ll sift through the rest of the files.
