Daniel’s P.O.V.

I watch Aspen and Hunter walk out of the Palace with Victor close behind and I know that he will look after them, answer any question they have. Hunter is right, I do have work to do and I need to make sure I tell my Sons about my assignment.

However, there is something else I want to talk about with Brent and Gabe. Looking around I see that Jayce is absent and I tell Jax, Jason and Justin that I will tell them about the past few days the following day.

“Brent, Gabe. I would like to have a word with the two of you in my office.” I say as I walk towards my official office down the hall. My Beta and Gamma follow me as Jax rushes passed me to sprint out the backdoor.

I have a feeling he needs to let out Brick for a run, to let Brick come to peace with Hunter’s story and I know that I will have to give Joshua that chance too. I will ask Aspen at dinner if she wants to join me, because Joshua wants to meet her Wolf.

Instead of settling in the chair behind my desk I walk over to one of the armchairs, placed a little further into my office. Brent and Gabe sit down on the couch to my left and a smile spreads across my face as I see Brent pulling Gabe into his side.

Gabe tries to put some distance between them, but Brent isn’t having any of it. “Gabe, are you uncomfortable?” I ask him and he blushes when he realizes I caught on to him.

“You can sit anyway you like, I don’t care. Both of you are my friends and I am happy you found each other. As long as it is not an official setting I don’t care if you sit beside Brent or on his lap.

I know that I will have Aspen on my lap every chance I get and if someone doesn’t like that, that will be their problem to deal with. I just wish the two of you had found out decades ago.” I tell him as I look at both my friends.

Gabe smiles as Brent pulls him on to his lap and this time Gabe doesn’t fight him. “Thanks, Daniel. I think we both needed to hear you say that. Brent and I have talked about not finding out sooner as well.

We have come to the conclusion that we can question it all we want, but it doesn’t chance anything. It did take us decades to find out and maybe we should feel sorry for the years we lost, but we spent all these years side by side.

We had something not many mated couples have and that is the time to get to know one another, before the Matebond got involved. You have to learn what Aspen likes and dislikes, we already know that about the other.

Aspen will have to learn what will set off Joshua, while Brent and I already know what can set off the other’s Lycan. Yeah, we might have been apart all these years, but we also have been together all these years.” Gabe says.

I am stunned by his words, but I know that he is correct and I am glad they are okay with the situation as it is. I know that Aspen and I need to learn a lot about the other and Joshua makes it known that he is going to love the time we have to figure that out.

He can’t wait to find out what she prefers in the bedroom and he flashes me a few images, which make me groan out loud. “Looks like someone’s Lycan has a dirty mind.” Brent says as he chuckles and I have to adjust myself to get more comfortable.

“Did you contact your Dad?” Gabe asks and I know that he means Sarah’s Father. He will be so happy to see I have finally moved on, that I have found my second chance and that I kept my promise to both Sarah and her Mom.

“I will invite him over for dinner and while we’re at it we will also invite the High–ranking Lycans from the Palace and the Pack. That way we can introduce Aspen and Hunter to everyone and it will send out the message that I am taken.” I answer him.

Gabe smiles while Brent shakes his head and mutters “Poor Pups“, but I don’t understand why he made that comment. “Daniel, once the females find out you have your Mate, they will aim their arrows at your Sons.” Gabe explains and I actually start laughing.

“Then we better make sure we figure out how to shut up Hunter, because she will have quite a few snarly remarks for those females.” I quickly tell them about our run in with both Macy and Suzy and Brent just shakes his head.

I call Benjamin to invite him over for dinner, while Gabe links the High–ranking Lycans from the Palace and Brent the High–ranking Lycans from the Pack. Martha has been informed already and is ecstatic that she gets to prepare yet another large dinner.
