Chapter 235 Road Trip
Jayce’s P.O.V.
Colt keeps flashing pictures of the females that try to peak my interest, only to make sure that Hunter doesn’t figure out how much she affects us. I am battling with myself, a part of me wants to put her back down and the other part wants to keep holding on.
“Princess, I am sorry for interrupting you. Will you please continue?” I ask her before I put her back on the bed. She crawls back to the middle of it and I sit down on the edge. Once we are all sitting on the bed and are facing her, she starts speaking again.
She tells us what happened when they got there and I smile as she keeps going, but my face falls when she mentions Debra. “PJ, what is wrong?” She asks and I tell her about Debra’s visit to the Palace and what Mom did, she giggles as I repeat Mom’s words.
She tells us that only the family knows who she really is and that for the moment most of the Pack–members think she is a Law student, which isn’t a total lie. She tells us how she found out who’s books she is using.
“I also found out that one of the Council Elders ordered a reprint of the book, there are a few things in my book that are no longer discussed during the classes and tests. They are also very difficult to find in the digital library.
Victor found out which Elder is responsible for this and I have ordered Elder Marcus to have every Elder in the Throne room at five, one of the Elders is going to pay for what he did.
I asked Uncle Drake to be here with their Pack Lawyer and Debra as well, the things I found concern all Lycans and Werewolves.” She looks so pissed as she is talking about it and I almost feel sorry for the Elder.
We try to get some more information from her, but she refuses to give us any answers. She does tell us about her Aunts and Uncles, about her Cousin Max and that she hopes to meet her Aunt Sasha one day.
Justin is the one to address the elephant in the room as he asks her if she wants to finish her studies. “Yes and I will explain why. If my first classes are any indication we might have lost the knowledge on a few Laws over the years.
Laws that will benefit the majority of our kind and I want them all out in the open, not hidden away in some dark corner of the digital library. I already asked Victor to find out if the books I got from Pops are the only ones that got reprinted.
I know that this might not be what you had hoped for, but I need to do this and I don’t want to
regret anything somewhere down the line. I have a security team that will travel with me and maybe if one of you is between assignments you can join me.” She says.
She is right, we don’t like that she will be away from us, but we understand why she wants to do this and if it turns out that someone deliberately hid some Laws for whatever reason than I hope she finds all of them.
Drake’s P.O.V.
When Hunter asked me to bring our Pack lawyer and Debra to the Palace by five I had been stunned to say
the least, but I knew she had asked with a reason. Not that I know what that reason could be and neither does Patrick, our Pack lawyer.
Mom told me that she and Dad were coming to and when my Sisters found out they decided to make a family trip out of it. Lucy and Mara will love to see their Niece again and I am not going to tell anyone that they are coming with us.
Dad asks me if I know why Hunter wants Debra at the Palace, but I have to tell him that I have no clue as to why she needs to be there. “Knowing Hunter, she probably found something to ban her from all of our lives.” I say with a smirk on my face.
I hope that Hunter found something in her studies that would help my Brother, but as long as they still had a bond I would not banish her from the Pack. It would make her a rouge and that would make her even more unpredictable. She was still considered family, despite of everything she did.
Just minutes before we are to leave, I call Debra to the Pack–house and inform her that she is going to accompany us to the Palace. She doesn’t look happy with that and I know it has to do with Aspen’s command.
She can no longer tell anyone that she is Aspen’s Mother and I am proud of my Niece for standing up to her Mother. I am actually surprised she didn’t ban her from the Palace, but then again she didn’t have to as Debra could never get into the Palace without an escort or an invitation.
I
eyes, “Don’t worry, I tell Debra that she will be driving with me and I see actual fear in her won’t kill you along the way. They are expecting you, so it wouldn’t look good if you turned up dead. Get in and stay quiet.” I say as I walk to the driver’s side of the SUV.
