Chapter 238 Elder No More
Chapter 238 Elder No More
Thomas‘ P.O.V.
From the moment I stepped into the Throne room my family has asked me questions through the mind link, they don’t want Debra to know that we are related and I am more then willing to keep that from her.
I look at the table and wonder why it is in the middle of the room, but it doesn’t take long to get the answer. I sit down next to Justin and I wonder why she picked the four of us. The Elder I understand, after all he is her tutor and he should know the answers.
When she asks the second question Alex’s cars shoot up and we are both curious as to why she asked this one in particular. Justin looks at me from the corner of his eyes and I can tell that he is as curious as I am.
I nearly fell out of my seat when I hear Hunter talking about the answer to the second question and when I hear her order Debra to accept my rejection I jump up, “I, Thomas Windward, reject you, Debra Madison, as my Mate.” I see the recognition in her eyes at my last name, but it is too late and she knows it.
The pain in my gut in bad, but not as bad as I had expected and when I hear Hunter talk to Debra a small smile appears on my face. She will go through hell and back for what she did to me and my Pup, Hunter is making sure of that.
Pops joins me as I am brought to the infirmary and he tells me he has a link open with Jax to find out why it was taken from the Law books.
Hunter’s P.O.V.
“Cedrick, sit down.” I say as I pull out one of the chairs and face it towards Dad. He looks at me and I know what he is about to say. “You are no longer an Elder, you broke the oath you took and with that you lost your title as Elder.” I look him in the eye and he knows that I have done my research.
“Cedrick removed the chapter on the trial–period and the rejection afterwards for his own benefit. Cedrick found his Mate while she was underage and couldn’t feel the Mate bond yet, however she was the Daughter of a Delta that hated Cedrick and his family.
He knew their Pack Lawyer had died and a few weeks later his Son would start his studies. Cedrick made sure he got the reprinted book without those two chapters, making sure she couldn’t deny him. He did leave a small mention on the trial–period, just in case he needed it himself. Luck was on his side, because her parents died a week before the Harvest Moon he had been waiting for.
Cedrick marked and mated her before anyone in her family found out and when they did it was too late, there was nothing they could do. You see, her family had a very good reason for hating Cedrick and his family. His older Brother was mated to her older Sister, but he was not a good man.
He isolated her from her family and friends, he beat her and abused her every chance he got. In Cedrick’s family there is one pattern that repeats itself over and over again, each male loses his fated Mate during birth and that is something her family knew as well.
When her Sister got pregnant their Father sent someone to keep an eye on her and when she died in childbirth he removed the body from the Pack. The body was examined and it was determined that she had been strangled to death.

Cedrick’s Brother was killed with permission of three Council Members and Cedrick knew that they would do everything they could to keep his Mate away from him. By removing the chapter on rejection afterwards he made sure she was stuck with him.
Cedrick’s Mate is still alive, but I have a feeling that is only because of one reason. She hasn’t given him a Pup yet and before you say that you are nothing like your Brother, I know that you are just like him.
I asked my Uncle which of his men he trusted enough to do a job for me and he gave me two of his men. They were the only ones that knew what I had found and that I needed to know why. They went to see your Mate and I can tell you that they are furious at what you did to her.” As I look at him both men walk in with Cedrick’s Mate.

I ask her if she ever rejected Cedrick in the years they have been together and she tells us that she does it at least twice a year, but he never accepts. I turn to Cedrick with a smile on my face and he knows what I am going to do.
A few minutes later both of them are brought to the infirmary and I give the Doctor the same instructions for Cedrick as I gave him for Debra. Once everyone is settled down again I turn towards the Council.
“Elders, I will continue with my studies and I will find every Law that we have forgotten about. Whether it was done deliberately or by accident, I will return them into our Law books and I will make adjustments where they need to be made.” I say and I see them looking from one to another.
